Social media causes people to believe some skills are more common then they really are.

I never thought I'd reach 225lbs until I watched your channel. I hit 225lbs a good while ago now, I'm getting 210lbs for 7 or 8 reps now. Thanks Justin

I finally hit 120kg bench (around 265lbs I think) this year and I hadn’t been that hyped in years. Injuries fucked me so I’ve never been able to make strength gains as easily as I’ve made size gains until this past year

My dad started lifting at 50 after a cervical spinal fusion and has nerve damage on his tricep. Now he’s 57 and he’s benched 315 and repped 275 for 10.

You SHOULD be proud of benching 225lbs. It IS a big deal. The internet is full of elitists and negativity. Internet elitists claim that everyone does it and it's no big deal, yet I NEVER see people benching 225lbs (100kg) in real life, and I've been working out for 6 years now.

At the end of the day, 225 is a lot of weight. Be proud of your accomplishments kings. You’re working out for yourself not to be better than other people.

Most of the world doesn’t strength train, have access to the gym, or can even prioritize lifting

You can hit it in your 40s too. People use age too much as an excuse. Work hard, eat well, take care of yourself, and you can progress like (or similar to) in your 20s and 30s. I'm 43 and just been working out about 8 months. Hitting 225 in the next few workouts and have a lot of room to go. Don't let pessimism make you think these things are unachievable. 315 will happen. I'm also stronger on many things than I was in my 20s. I'm taking it a lot more seriously now, systematic, and always aiming to progress in either reps or weight. You can do it!

Hit 230 yesterday at the age of 41. Went from 195 to 230 in 4.5 months. Next stop 250. When I was a young man the highest I hit was 155. If your older you can still build strength. Eat right and train hard.

This is one of the many ways I feel privileged to be American. It’s very common to go into gyms here and see plenty of people bench 225 because of our access to food and information. But as soon as I travel internationally and go to gyms, it’s rare to see anyone do it. Truly a daily reminder to be grateful 🙏🏽🇺🇸

Once you pass 35 years of age you can also pass the 315 bench mark. Don't let age fool you.

The important detail is TIME. I agree most able-bodied, genetically “normal” people can hit at LEAST 225, 315 if you’re on the larger side as said.
But it takes TIME. I didn’t start weight training until I was 18. I did not bench 225 until I was 23. I took years of chipping away at it to get there. Certainly not a get up and go story. But it can be done.

One year from now brother🎉 I'll comment on your video if I've achieved a 315. You are a huge motivation. Love you bruv.

I once believed that I’ll never be able to bench 315 because of how slowly I was progressing but now my PR is 305lbs at 180lbs bw and I’ve never been more confident that a 315lbs+ bench is right around the corner

Managed 225 x 12. I couldn't bench the bar when I started at 17 so my ceiling is much lower than everyone else.

If I can do it, you definitely can. Just do it safely and with gradual progression. Don't injure yourself because it will ruin your progress for a long time.
