My wife is good at this stuff. She uses nail polish on her monthly scratches, the freaking car looks good, unless you're closely looking at the scratches. She learnt her skills as a juvenile delinquent back in the 90's.

This video would have taken a day to order parts, do the job, record, edit etc. All this to help strangers who either wish to tackle such tasks themselves or to save money. This video deserves nothing but a massive thank you. Amazing effort and great result. Keep up the great work boys.

Still very visible, and that was in spite of the straight on angle you filmed to make it look good- you needed to apply more paint after levelling the first time. The idea is to build up the paint in the scratch so it is proud of the original finish then sand back, clear coat and polish. Also you should have used tape to localise the sanding area to only a 1/2 inch either side of the scratch and use a suitable sanding block to fit only that area. All in all a pretty woeful job for professionals...

I read some comments before I watched the video and thought I was about to see a bad scratch repair? However, after watching the complete video and the method, I think the job turned out great! That last product isn’t cheap @ $40 per 8 ounce bottle but works.
Good job!!

I usually don't mess with the clear coat. Just fill the scratch with paint until it protrudes, sand, buff with heavy cut compound and polish. Works well and should be invisible.

It's crazy no matter how good of a job you do there's always people that have something negative to say in the beginning of the video he mentions that the scratch will not be perfect but it will hide it I think he did a great job looks pretty good he never said that the scratch will be totally one-hundred-percent gone so maybe you guys on here are hard of hearing or have selective hearing most people have selective hearing they only hear what's going on in their freaking head guys I think you did a great job especially on the fact that you did state in the beginning of your video that the scratch would not be totally gone but he will hide it as good as he can that's exactly what he said everybody knows to totally get rid of a scratch you either have to take all coats of paint off down to the base and start all over again or just paint the whole freaking car so I believe we all know that so why get on here and waste time being negative I bet the people talking all that negative mess I bet you you wouldn't even take the time or have the patience to do that kind of work just based off the fact that you can't even listen smh people man this is exactly why I world is the way it is now always hating on one another try congratulating or maybe just keeping your negative comments to your damn self in your own negative had cuz we don't want to hear it and that's a fact didn't your mother ever tell you if you don't have anything good to say to keep your mouth shut🙏🙏🙏🙏 God Bless America because we needed as a people

Thank You ! I have an old Chevy S10 that has been abused but not by me. Don't EVER lend your truck or car to people no matter HOW big a friend you THINK they are. They'll tell you that the damage was there when they took it yeah RIGHT. My little S10 was darn near perfect when they took it .... anyway... now I have an idea of how to clean it up a little. Thanks again !

Alot of negative results but this was all accomplished with a paint pen and wax - it looks far, far better than the actual scratch - for me this was a success

Good for you guys. Great job. People need to remember this is a repair. It will never be 100% unless resprayed. Well done and thanks for taking time out to do this. 🚗

Well my friend... What can I say? I have seen many videos on you tube but yours is the first one I thought was a joke. I saw the scratch at the beginning and I saw it at the end. Ok Ok..look less but a better result was expected..that is why you have over a thousand "dislikes". Anyway, your effort is appreciated and we understand that the method is an option for a non-permanent time. Thank you.

Naaa dude, that's just how not to do if anything.
I'm no pro, but all you did was to mask it by 25%. The scratch is very much visible. And now it looks like it's had a crappy repair job.
Fail!

for a fast temporary fix i respect this alot. they made it look better than before. this is a fast cheap fix that some people can afford instead of going to a shop with high prices. the car definitely has visible scratches but definitely not like before. thank you for giving us a simple fix that we can do at home

Ok, the key is to fil the scratch so that it can be sanded dead flat it looks like you have sanded the high spots but neglected to fill in all the low spots that's why it is so easy to see, you do not have a flat surface where the scratch was! So in my opinion, if someone took the time to slowly build-up the scratched area so that it was slightly higher than the original paint surface and then carefully sanded the area until completely flat and then begun to cut polish and after that buff using the last compound to create a good shine the scratch would have been much more difficult to see and a reasonable result could be achieved from that product. Although this is far from how a professional would go about fixing a scratch like this, the product is a DIY alternative for home use.
