Avoid getting scammed guys I have been on mercari for a while and wanted to talk to you guys about why you should not sell expensive items on mercari.
The fact that this buyer got away with this is so crazy.
I was a fan of mercari but not anymore.
Mercari feels like a scam and a big waste of time and the customer service in this situation was extremely frustrating.

I should’ve came back to this video because I sold a brand new pair of galaxy buds for $55. The guy telling me it’s damage they’re no good but they’re brand new. He wants to return. He opened it and it’s not brand new. I’m just gonna go back to selling stuff on eBay. I think the best things to sell on Mercari is make up like cheap stuff. I’m upset.

Got banned off mercari after getting accused of selling fake goods. I provided them documentation and receipts to prove they were real, was given a generic response by their incompetent customer service team and my account was gone just like that smh.

I recently sold a film camera priced over $700, only to find out the buyer said that the lens came broken. Package was completely fine and it was bubble wrapped. I even filmed a goodbye video for it. I refused to believe that UPS did something to my package and the way it was damage is definitely more of an accidental type - dropping the camera. And when I got it back, the buyer poorly packaged it. Reported to Mercari and they sided with the buyer. The only good outcome for my story is that it still works.

Long story short, Mercari will always side with the buyer and Mercari will only cover $200 if the item was damage during transit. And what I learned from this, is that I can't be selling items $200 on that platform anymore.

The same thing just happen to me with a bottle of Creed Aventus Flacon (17oz). Now Mercari is allowing the person to open my fragrance and empty the fragrance and send me back what they want.

I bought the fragrance at Neiman Marcus for $1145. The pictures they took and even had the fragrance siphoned out. Now I'm awaiting a knock off Creed. My scammer is from Texas.

I sent my receipt from Neiman Marcus, filed a complaint with BBB, and the inquiry and all the bullshyt. Now Mercari is saying that I need to wait.

Please don't sell anything more than $20 on Mercari.

I actually just had a buying experience where the seller sent just a empty envelope in the bag I was furious! I thankfully got a refund but these scams do happen and I really wouldn't suggest buying or selling on mercari and if so to be aware these things can happen

You are Right The item can get damaged in shipment & Or Delivered to Wrong Address
Which has Happened to me as a Buyer But I Kept the Damaged items Because If I had of Sent Back they Could have been damaged Worse
And I have Had 2 Packages Delivered to the same wrong address within 2 weeks 1 Day apart From Different Sellers on Mercari
Both Sent To me using UPS
The 1st I Never Got even though UPS Went to try to get it 2 to 3 times after they tracked it to where was left
The 2nd I changed location Put My Address on More areas of my Mailbox in bold numbers & it still got delivered to the same house which doesn't have the type of location I listed & This time the Children/Teenagers Brought us the Package but it was Damage d & Some items were damaged
So I videoed
But Had Trouble getting help to make claims from Mercari
Finally got the right department to make claim on 1st 1 but. Still haent been able to get 1 on the damaged 1 Glad all that was Broke were Picture Frames & the glass & the pictures were ok I can replace the frames
But the teddy bear & Other items in 1st box never received list money on at least the sellers of Both Packages Were So Very Helpful & Still Trying to help
Even though unable to Get in touch with now because of limit on chat time & 1 seller has recently sold all items in past day or 2 so waitingvtill That seller posts something else so can tell them where to find the video I recorded when saw damage That seller took So Much Effort into protecting items that is Why only had 4 to 5 frames broke
Box looked like something Very Heavy was dropped on 1 side & or Someone tryed to open it to see what was inside & Purposely damaged when was nothing they wanted lucky the small items were in bubble envelope & the Best (light) item & other small items was in the middle on top & Bubble wrapped Good where it couldn't be seen
They UPS Almost delivered a 3rd Package there but we were outside & Asked driver who was clearly taking it to that house what name on package & address & he said address but when I said this is ridiculous 3rd time he started walking fast to truck so he was utmost likely the 1 who delivered the last 2 packages of ours
& between the 1 we were watching for & others a package for a different house on opiate side of us was delivered to our house so we took it to them since knew them
Every time we called ups & next time got package it came here & was a different guy
