If you're crying writing the checks, that's not a good sign. We spent less than $5k on the wedding and honeymoon combined, but we still started our marriage in debt because of it. That part was not fun.

I want to know the venue. Weddings venues I saw maxed around 50-60k for venue rental and meal and drink packages with a min of 30-40k, and an average price per person around $500 for a meal. Even with flowers, band, photography, videographer that estimate seems really high
