No matter how short the wedding was, this memory will always live in your hearts, that’s the most important thing.

Filipino weddings need a reception. Because that's where everyone gives money to the bride and groom 😂

You get to be married to him for the rest of your lives. That's a win in itself :)

My fiancé was luckily very open minded and supportive(I’m not implying her fiancé wasn’t supportive in saying that) of the really weird “wedding” I wanted. We rented a bunch of cabins on this beautiful lake in the mountains for all the people closest to us, and we spent 5 days just being together, having fun, talking, exploring, all the things that we felt like were starting our marriage off on the right foot. Our families became close during that time and it just really jumpstarted us feeling like one big happy family. Then on the last day we had a few more people come up and had a small ceremony right by the lake. It definitely isn’t the best plan for everyone, but it worked for us and I wouldn’t change a thing about it. Even our parents, who are much more traditional, ended up saying that they loved the idea once they actually saw and experienced what we had talked about. You can always renew your vows later in the marriage, and recreate/honor the best parts of your wedding while adding all the extra memories you wanted to make the first time around.

It’s the marriage that’s important People put way too much emphasis and money on the ceremony

You guys can host a reception on your one year anniversary if it’s something you feel you lost out on. ❤️ my husband and I kept it simple and got married at the mosque and then took the witnesses out to lunch afterwards. A few months later I started feeling sad that I didn’t get to wear a big white dress so we planned a wedding abroad and it was fantastic !

Congratulations! i am an old Korean lady. You and your husband look like two nice people. I see kindness in his eyes and good heart. Lucky you!

Best thing is that you can always throw yourselves a party! I work as an event planner and hosted a party for a couple a few years shy of their 25th wedding anniversary. They realized that life was too short to wait for a big milestone and threw themselves an amazing party!
