I wish this worked to remove shorts from search results too. I have always hated shorts because they are always in a vertical format which makes me physically sick. There's a reason I never made a shit-tok account but now YT is trying to become shit-tok 2.0 and forcing this crap down my throat. If you hate shorts as much as I do, click those 3 dots and submit feedback asking for an account option to never show shorts on the homepage or the search results.

Nice, it works, but only for Home page. Shorts now in my Subscriptions too and there is no X button to get rid of them for at least 30 days. The only button Shorts have is "Show more" which is opposite of what I wanted.
I tried to check with support, but you only can complain in community forums, where no one from YouTube gives a heck..

My reason for wanting to get rid of them isn't that they're addictive. I refuse to watch most all videos in 9:16 aspect ratio on my desktop or on my smartTVs. I don't even own a smartphone! It's absurd to watch a video with more than 2/3rds of the screen blacked out. They're annoying to encounter in notifications from channels I subscribe to, especially when the creator doesn't bother to tag the crap with #Shorts. A few channels have felt my scorn by being unsubscribed to, j/k. I hardly think a channel with thousands (or millions) of subscribers is going to miss me, but at least I won't have this nonsense cluttering up my feed.
Sadly, your video doesn't address that. Oh well.

Thank you for your video. I keep getting stuck in a loop of shorts, reels, fb reels, tiktoks @.@ im just trying to stop losing time to these videos that literally just fill my headful of nonsense I didn't ask for. There is a Google chrome extension called 'unhook' and it will allow you to fully customize your home feed. It has made me calm inside and made me not get distracted by every fricking thing on the home page

Sadly, if is press Not interested at the shorst, it shows that it will be hidden for 30 days, but the next time i open the youtbe, it pops again and again...

I have history turned off, so have no home videos. I only watch videos in my subscriptions or videos I search for by topic etc... I can't find a way to block shorts in subscriptions. I refuse to be fed videos by some bot or worse. It's a lot harder to be dictated to by social media if you don't allow it to decide what you want to see. old man rant over.

This no longer works. Youtube has disabled the ability to disable shorts because it makes them too much money and they care exactly zero about user preferences.

It's so fucking Infuriating I literally want to rip the atoms in half of the person who smirkly put this in.

I just want to watch a video and what do I get but that cheap ass random unrelated popular video completely based off of algorithm results showing up after I search something. I made the mistake of searching something ultra specific and it just gave me random popular videos and YouTube shorts.

I was trying to find this marshmallow video I watched a while ago and I swear for every 1 YouTube VIDEO I found, there was 6 YouTube shorts stuffed inbetween. Videos aren't even a thing anymore, its just YouTube shorts.
