What do you all think of Steve Jobs as a leader? Were his methods justified?

Lack of boundaries, disregard of social norms and reciprocation

A friend of mine ended up in hospital after working with Steve Jobs. He described it as the worst work experience of his life.

I love watching video essays, this one, and the other videos in your channel, are well-presented with the visual graphics, editing, and sources. Keep being consistent!!! You’re doing awesome, expand with other sites with clips of this (tiktok); you can really expand your fan base and join the ranks of others that do stuff like this on yt but most importantly do what you love!

I worked with a guy who worked with Steve. He told me Steve would fire people on the spot if Steve didn’t hear or see anything worth wild out of them. For example if you were at a meeting with him and he asked you a question about an aspect of a product. You had better spit out a constructive idea to address his Statement. You couldn’t just tell him “Oh that is not on my level of expertise in this area”, that would get you fired. Obviously it was an extremely high stress environment, and I myself would not participate in that and I don’t know many people who would.

It’s not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me.

People seldom appreciate just how close Apple came to failure. Were it not for CFO Fred Anderson’s financial work after Steve’s return, Steve wouldn’t have had the time to get the iMac or iPod to market.

My old business partner was pretty much the same. Could have achieved a lot of great things if he hadn't been addicted to Cocaine. But exactly the same behaviour. Narcissistic sociopath all the way, he was still a human however, even if, as the STEVE JOBS movie points out "I'm poorly made". A person who's drive and intensity overshadows the light of empathy.

Wow your content seems different, although somewhat similar to before. I haven't been on YouTube for quite some time. Your content and thumbnails are astounding. I'm also glad to see that your channel is growing. One thing I recommend is to make a summary or show an interesting fact (a clip) of any or each of your videos as a YouTube short. I see many channels do it a lot to bring in a wider audience from YouTube because shorts algorithm works a little differently, and I think it will help out your channel. All the best.

Good insight into SJ - I was there from Sculley to Jobs 2.0. But, you're wrong on the iPod - it was launched on 10th Nov 2001 and sales were modest, only slightly improving with the silhouette ads in 2003. It wasn't until the launch of the Classic 4G in 2005 and a heavy investment in the marketing that sales exploded. It then became the phenomenal success that people imagine, but for 3 years it was in a dead zone. The illusion of 'overnight success' of the iPod somewhat trivialises the huge effort and faith that SJ and the team at Apple had in getting the device to perfection.

Before the ipod, there were many ways to take your music on the go, creative zen player and a large number of chinese memory stick mp3 players... This woman never grew up in late 1990-2000

He lacked for empathy but also stubborn to make the easiest user interface for "human"

It is so sad to see people loosing their families over a job. You can always get another job if you are competent in your field.

When Steve Jobs returned to Apple, he started firing people left and right. He contacted an old Apple employee who was now working with MS. Steve asked him to come back and help Apple get off the ground. The man didn’t want to leave MS as he was getting ready to retire but Steve managed to convince him to come back to Apple. One day before the man completed 90 days at Apple, Jobs fired him. When the man asked why, Steve told him he was firing him because he didn’t stick up for him when the board voted to fire him.
