Why some infections are treated longer than others

Antibiotics are prescribed to treat bacterial infections in humans and animals, and there are a few variables that impact how long antibiotics should be administered to clear an infection. Dr. Jennifer Granick - a veterinary internal medicine specialist at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine - explains what those variables are as well as why we don't want to treat with antibiotics longer than is necessary.
