I went to the Dr and found out I had strep throat. The Dr gave me antibiotics and I took that until I felt better. The next week I noticed I had frequent urination and I thought it was a uti coming on but I didn’t have any pain like I e experienced before with a uti. I decided to go to the Dr before it got painful. When I went to the Dr I told them I believe I have a uti but can they check please. A male Dr came in my room after me sitting in the room waiting for him for 2 hours he only spends 5 mins with me saying “you’re a woman and you know what a uti feels like so we’re going to go with that” he prescribed me with a uti medication and left out the room. I picked my medicine up and started using it. The next day I went back to the Dr requesting that I actually get looked at and swabbed or something. I requested a female Dr. I knew it wasn’t a uti because it didn’t feel like one. I sat in the room for 2 more hours until a male Dr came in and said “just finish taking the uti medication that the Dr from yesterday gave you” that was extremely frustrating. Long story short I took all the uti medication 2x a day for 7 days and still felt irritation of the vulva, cuts all of that! I ended up going to a hospital where I demanded a pelvic exam and they said I had bv and a yeast infection just as I thought based off google searches and symptoms. They misdiagnosed me and didn’t care at all. So I suffered through 7 days of taking a medication I know wasn’t helping me!

Great advise! The swab is super easy, I remember being so scared originally. I had reoccurring yeast infections for a year and a half and it was awful!

Can a yeast infection show up as what looks like a lot of beads of wet toilet paper when wiping? Is that what you meant by cottage cheese?

I had chronic YI on Nexplanon. Like every 2 weeks. (after never having one before or since). This went on for 9 months, until I finally told my doctor I'd cut Nexplanon out myself if she didn't. I went on the pill for a year. I was dry and in pain all the time.

I did a ton of my own research, and theorized that my YI were caused by dryness due to hormones. My week break on the pill kept it from getting so bad infections occurred. a New doctor agreed with this theory and gave me a copper IUD. I've had it for almost 2 years and LOVE IT!

I'm so surprised this is not a more common issue. Nexplanon is a GREAT option for so many people, but It surprised me that 3 separate OBGYNs had never seen hormones cause issues like that before.

Hi ive been suffering going on 3 months. I went to ER twice they gave me antibiotics.I went to parent plan hood they only give me one pill that supposed to treat me for certain amount of days.I would figure they would give me more but they didn't. Im suffering still and its really painful, I'm really sad and stressed out

I'm glad I found your channel ! It seems like I am plagued with yeast infections and Uti's. It seems most of the time especially after being intimate with my lover I get a Uti. I always urinate after sex which I was told to be helpful. I've been checked for STDs periodically but it seems like this is a curse!!!

So i got a yeast infection and visited the doc and got prescribed the 6 days vaginal pills and the infection went away but came back again and this time while cleaning down there i saw these white clumps . I still do see the white clumps when i insert my finger and take it out and i usually do that few times and get it out. Is it ok to do so?

I have had a yeast infection for two years. A Chinese medicine doctor told me to eat millet. Do you believe me? I put a tablespoon in my oatmeal and cook it. It works within a week. It doesn't itch anymore.
