Yes!!! Just what I wanted to see and hear about. I really enjoy PHP. I understand why people had issues with the earlier versions, but PHP 5-7 is great and fun to code. I get that it has embedded Bash commands that may be an issue too.

I had to maintain really bad php, some security upgrades in the network killed the app as it was too much work to upgrade to newer php.

Agree with your video, I've been in IT 30+ years now, have seen a lot of garbage code, 0 refactoring. My languages I started coding in is assembler then C then C++, then some more. You need some discipline in your coding decisions. Just because a language has a feature or a library, does not mean you must use it (digraph and trigraph sequences in c/c++ or the fortran 77 constructs in modern fortran). 😏 I am not promoting any language, just stating examples...

What do you think about Laravel and Cake? Do they solve or at least improve, a lot of the problems otherwise caused by relative lack of experience?

What are your thoughts on GUI programming between WPF (C#) and Qt (C++) for solo developers?
WPF has a bigger community, easier to write, but Qt is cross-platform and has better performance

I hate php because it's very hard debugging legacy code but java is much much easier even if you use a old version of java.
