Never apologize for something you personally didn't do. No generation owes another an apology. That's BS

We can't apologize for history, my God

I would’ve spun the question and asked her, “ are you ready to apologize to the future generation for your behavior right now?”

So many students on their phones, unable or unwilling to concentrate enough to develop critical thinking skills.

A third of the students just zoning out on their phones... way better orator than I, would request all on phones to leave, wasting seats

Social media makes depression worse because it’s not real connections. It also presents a very false sense of reality

Boomers might owe you an apology for your ignorance.

I'm an atheist and used to think that we'd be better off without organized religion, but it's actually the rise of secularism that's causing a lot of the problems that plagues the West. People lack meaning and purpose without religion's imposition of a moral foundation. Instead of worshipping God, we're now worshipping our hedonistic impulses, and there's never been an easier time to do that than in the 21st century. Moral relativism deteriorates the social fabric by diverging our shared values.

Every generation has its problems, but this is the most privileged time in human history. We all have access to endless information on our phones, there's an abundance of food, and there's a million and one ways that we can entertain ourselves. Gratitude is somehow never factored into discussions like this.

People need to start comparing today's homes to what generations ago actually called a home. The cause for the housing crisis has to do with massive regulation and today's expectation of what a home should be compared to what a home was a few generations ago.

One of the stupidest things you can say is to blame "organized religions" for all the wars. Which religion? When? Why? How about unorganized religion because that is secular society. Richards is right on this point.

Conflict is necessary for growth. The real issue is how we express conflict upon the world.

My sociology teacher Mrs. Edwards said the more advanced we have gotten the less we are able to interact and communicate with one another. The family bond is broken.

@Sam
As a SOC professor you should tell kids that religion is a cult, that doesn't allow any free thoughts.
Strange that sometimes you go really soft

Why doesn't professor enforce student rules and decorum? Student having side conversations, giggling, on their phone, spread out all over thier seats, yawning, hiding under hoodies, mocking. The professor is assuming an overly casual demeanor, which allows the students to "let it all hang out". callling his students "dude" and" and "bro". We need professors like in "The Paper Chase" (John Housman)
