People wanted change despite getting all the benefits under his government. If you asked people of interior parts of Odisha or not so well off ones "who you will vote & why ?", they said " Naveen Patnaik has done a lot for us but we want some change " . That's it. There were no valid reason for the people. Pandian was there in the 2019 election as well but in the backdrop. Opposition unnecessarily termed him as an outsider after he came to the forefront . He was an IAS for 2 decades and had worked in the grassroots .The major changes/ transformation that took place under 5T is commendable . It was pandian who has headed the 5T. But people just ignored these transformations and believed the misinformations.

No doubt there were some strategy issue of BJD and I am sure if the party continues will surely self reflect, but blaming Pandian entirely for the defeat is not wise at all.
