there's no way that the in A-B test is involved just the trick he showed. The A version could be tighter in the low-end but it's also definitely louder, brighter and more punchy

Increased the low end transient material while decreasing the sustain? Let me know if that sounds right because there are a good number of ways to do this

I think it would help to A/B with volume matched otherwise anyone is going to think the louder one is better

I like him and his videos but he doesn't compare A and B version on the same level. His is always louder. Just keep in mind.
