Why would I trust someone's opinion as honest when the thumbnail contains obviously fake gameplay?

It's really a case-by-case issue. Ive had a great time with my portal. Im lucky to have really good internet, and when ive taken it to my friends home, they have great internet and it works as in intended. 1080p 60fps everytime.
It is a shame that it a streaming machine, but it works for me so much. The portal really got me back into gaming again.

With good connection i can play any game from my ps4 or ps5 library of games. I have used it more than I expected.

I have had mine about 6 months and I love it. I bought simply to play my livingroom ps5 in bed at night and for that purpose it's perfect. I get people that take it out of the house having issues but that doesn't interest me.

As a parent of two toddlers. I can’t play video games on my big tv anymore. That’s why I love my PS portal 🎉

You don't really need much speed network speed to stream games, the problem comes with other factors of the connection, the broadband you are using, the quality of the router... doesn't matter how much speed you throw at it, it needs to be consistent.

Most people don't realize that you can't connect to a 2.4ghz wifi channel. The connection needs to be through 5ghz. It doesn't matter how fast your connection is, you will lag if you connect to 2.4ghz.

My Ps5 is upstairs not connected via ether net, and I haven't had a single problem with connection with the portal. WiFi hub is just the one provided by Virgin 🤔

What do you want them to make it out of metal

I personally use the ps remote app and use the PlayStation gaming pad that I picked up for about $70. Yeah, the controller isn’t as good as a dual sense on the portal, by my phone’s display is much better than the portal’s. And I can stream my ps 5 with little to no issues on my phone’s 5G cell service.

So you can’t play without WiFi? And can you use mobile data?

Monthly packages? What is that? In my country there are only “unlimited” packages. Sure we may top at 1GBit/s.

I use it on the bed at home connected to a hardwired mesh router. Flawless connection and speed.

Outside, it’s tethered to my phone data service. Not as good as a home set up, but enough to play action games like stellar blade. So IMO, it delivers on its intended use, and then some.

If it works like psp it will be most cool looking handheld device as the design and grabbing it will be easy

"Get a new router" no, just get a mesh thing like TP Link offers and have them plugged in. I stream games from my main PC to my Macbook or phone and it extremely usable. Looks and feels great. Your router sits where the cables enter your home, build your network around that to ensure really good connectivity. It's not that expensive these days, and if your ISP provided modem/router supports 1 Gbps/1 gigabit ports, you don't need to buy a more expensive router but some less expensive mesh hardware.
