Guys. I found the problem of the R5 II. It's the price.

FACT CHECK: The previous batteries DO work, just gonna need the new ones for the “oomph” that the cooling battery grip is going to require.

Being a photographer and camera enthusiast, I finally feel like I’m ahead of these guys and can comprehend things better than they do 😂 ahhh! Finally!

This is the correct take. Camera gear nerds are NUTS. I watch many of their channels, and I still say this. They always find something it's missing and But all these high end modern mirrorless cameras are amazing and do everything needed for 99% of users.

Though FYI the eye control unfortunately isn't super reliable -- you have to calibrate it a lot for it to work.

I have the R3 and with regards the eye track focus feature. Once you look at what you want to focus on you can press the back button “AF lock”, hold it down and then you can scan the rest of the scene and the focus point won’t change.

Lmao I scared the dog when Marques asked if the sensor is a triangle 😂

Eye autofocus only works in photo mode. It’s disabled in video mode.

As for using it in photo mode, you can set af to recognize particular faces to stay on.

Shot with an r5c for 2 years. Absolutely loved the thing. My new office is all Sony fx cameras now. The r5c can do 45mp stills and do 4k 120 with audio it's literally the perfect hybrid camera. I think I carried 8 batteries with me at a time and I could go through a whole professional/collegiate track meet with them(about 8 hours). I miss it so much.

For the R5MarkII, it CAN ustilize older LP-E6N and E6NH batteries with some performance reductions.

The reason for this, is because the R5 Mark II asks for more batter output to power the second processor inside these cameras, previous generation batteries just simply dont have the output. That being said, the new LP-E6P batteries for the R5 Mark II are backwards compatible all the way to canon DSLRs. Hope this helps!

3:01 Shutters don’t protect sensors. Shutters are more delicate than sensors. Plus the dust is still on the back of the lens or on the shutter, the latter which is hard to clean. The dust still will get on the sensor

It's about time! I've been eagerly anticipating camera talk sessions. 😢

One major upgrade to the R5 MKII is the stacked sensor which eliminates rolling shutter when shooting stills in Electronic Shutter. Not sure if this also applies to video.

Just stopping in to say the LP-E6, LP-E6N, and LP-E6NH batteries DO work in the R5Mk II

So that Eye control autofocus by Canon is a very cool feature that's been around for a long time as you guys mentioned. I actually have a few film cameras equipped with that feature and it's nice especially since it's been around from the mid 90s. Also all my film cameras that have it still work well.

It does come with caveats, like mentioned where if you're looking at something behind the subject the focus can change depending on autofocus mode but if you are locked in on the subject you want to photograph then it's great. Another thing is that it can be inconvenient with cameras that have only three auto focus points like the early versions but that is where the benefit of modern cameras with more focus points come into play. If I'm not mistaken that feature skipped the entire DSLR generation then came back in the R3.
