I like to make DIY videos and have used my camera attached to my hat in the past, it works well. I have made a couple of videos showing how to do it.However I recently started using a soft boonie type hat that will not allow me to attach a camera easily. 
Your solution to making a body mount is wonderful. Crafty, practical and cheap.
 can't wait to try it out.

hi, just wanted to say thanks for your uploads :) (if that is the right word?)  I am not very technical and to be honest a bit of a girl when it comes to technology and figuring out how to work stuff so I usually end up watching a video to show me how to work said stuff.  Anyway I watched a few of you vids and some dont allow comments so I am commenting here, your videos have been very informative and easy enough for even me to understand lol and the tips are great plus I got to see a lot of Manchester which I havent seen in several years (bonus!)  so THANKS and keep up the good work x

Even when sitting on a standard-style motorcycle you still lean a bit forward. Therefore one has to adjust the tripod head to a certain angle. This will help avoid frustration of recording hours of just handlebars and tarmac visible. I've been using your method before I got a special harness for my camera.

Because I ride a Tourer (Victory Cross Country Tour) I use a Go Pro chest mount which is adjusted to the highest position.  I find this works well and my other non-Go Pro cameras are all compatible with the Go Pro mounting system and they work well also.  
For any camera that does not have the Go Pro mounting system your cheap system is great. Unless you don't have a jacket with an outside chest pocket:-)

Can you do a video on motorcycle gear? I'm intrigued as to what sort of gear a techie would wear. I'm surprised by your choice of leather over textile and I'm wondering what boots, gloves and other protective gear you've chosen.

Let's motorcycle. Check. One jacket. Check. One front pocket. Negative. One GoPro. Negative. Shit.
I have the Sony AS100 and it's currently mounted on my bike or on my helmet with the very flexible system from RAM-mount. It work very well but I would like to have a solution for a body mount. I've looked at different phone-holders which you wrap around the upper arm and than modify it for the Sony cam.
