Barrichello is not given credit enough for 2009 Brawn GP championship. He helped develop the car as he was one of the best drivers to know how to tune the car to be a beast.

I met Ross Brawn in early 2010, I said what you did with Brawn GP inspired my interest in F1, he was polite, shook my hand & said watch what we did with Mercedes.

I cannot truly explain the emotions I experienced over this season. As a long-time Button fan, it was surreal. I couldn't believe he was winning races and leading the championships, and then I couldn't believe he wasn't winning races and his lead was shrinking. But that final lap of Brazil when I realised he was gonna be the F1 World Champion. Honestly, it was one of the best moments of my life.

Big myth that it was all the diffuser when f1 engineers have stated the front wing was just as important. And 2 other teams had the ebd but not nearly as fast. Honda spent a ton on development.

I remember this season very well because I had just started watching F1 full time during Lewis Hamiltons first season and Lewis became my favorite driver as he kept setting record after record for a rookie then almost won the championship as a rookie I was just amazed by this sport then I watched Hamilton and Massa fight for the 08 Championship I was 21 years old and totally hooked on F1 and as an American I was of course hooked on NASCAR as well so I would either get up at the crack of dawn or stay up until god knows when to watch F1 every time it was on then also watch everything else with 4 wheels GP2, NASCAR Truck series, Busch Series and Cup series so my weekends were complicated but by the the time 2009 rolled around I was ready for more history to be made but never could I have imagined what we got to see that year. Thank you for the reminder of a crazy year and for including the interviews from the Brawn documentary I will now have to watch that, although this Documentary was definitely a Broadcast level production.

I missed the 2009 season as I joined the army in March and was in basic and airborne then ranger school but it is one of the most iconic seasons of all time

You missed to mention that in that season KERS was introduced. Big teams had it but in the beginning, it was just a disadvantage due to the extra weight and balancing problems caused by the system.
Brawn being on low budget, couldn't even dream about having KERS in their cars. Ironically that was just another factor of luck for them, they could keep the car light and simple which turned out to be more effective.
