What amazes me is not the eight-second gain.
It's the undoubtedly _thousands_ of hours of studying the challenge, analyzing options, engineering solutions, manufacturing highly specialized equipment and tools, training, and coordination that gained those eight seconds.

And of course the commitment to perfection that a team requires to gain them.

I attended F1 races in the 90’s. Talk about spectacular. They were loading gas and changing oil in the pits, hence the 9secs.

Seeing F1 videos makes me miss my Dad 🥺 we use to record all the races on VHS, i still got the tapes, been going back and forth on if i should digitize them and upload them somewhere, we got races basically from 1990 to 2006 or so, whenever VHS went the dodo

The 90s was like a golden age for racing but over time pit crew became a literal sport of it’s own

My father was the lollipop man for an F1 team in the early 90's, he would tell me wild stories about the dangers of the pit in those days. I used to think his job was the hardest because he was in charge of everyone's safety, but he said he never wanted to be the guy in charge of the fuel!

The period 2000 - 2005 was a time when I really liked F1, At that time I was still a child aged 12 years.
Schumacher, Ralf, Montoya, Couldhard, Panis, Raikkonen, Alonso, Truly... etc
