Recently bought a 5600X for an itx build, and it’s weird to say it, but I was really happy to give AMD my money for that chip. They earned the dollars, and I respect them for finally handing it to intel. And when intel innovates and clobbers back, I’ll respectfully buy one of their chips 👍 good healthy competition is best

I found a 5600x in stock at a Best Buy store for retail last week. I thought Christmas came early and you bet your ass I bought that bitty up. Best upgrade I’ve ever made especially from my 1700x. Yeah less cores technically but that clock speed and them nanometers. I’m seeing 50-70% more FPS with my 2060 Super. It’s glorious. I can finally take advantage of my 144hz 1440p monitor.

That 14nm process is no longer gonna save them against Ryzen CPUs, especially for clock speeds, power draw, and price. And being best in gaming is slowly narrowing.

I hope AMD can get more Ryzen 5000 CPUs soon and I'm sure they are working feverishly on 5nm

In November 2021, I built a new PC and I chose 11600K+Z590 because the CPU+motherboard combo was $130 less expensive than a 5600X+Z570.

The 11600K is a good CPU. I OCed to 5.1 but you will need VERY good cooling. intel states the TDP is 125W but it is much closer to 250W.

The real winner this year will be i5 11400 for $170. 60% cheaper than 5600X and in gaming only 5-10% slower.

The power consumption really gets glossed over through the performance metrics. Faster than the 5600X (while using 2x the power) is a pretty big caveat, even if it's cheaper.
