California residents are struggling after 72,000 property insurance policies were dropped by State Farm. NBC News' David Noriega explains how the state's largest home insurer came to the decision and the impact it has left on tens of thousands of residents.

I paid State Farm for thirty years on an auto policy and then they refused to let me file a claim. Those 72, 000 policy holders were never really insured, anyway.

I guess state farm isn't as great as the famous people say, but just because they pay celebrities to do a commercial for them doesn't mean they're any good.

At minimum, the policyholders should have been given due notice and a one-year grace period. Insurers should not be able to just drop customers out of the blue like this.

I can’t help but mention, the CEO of State Farm makes 24 million annually. The average customer service rep makes 18 -22 an hour. If every SF client is paying hundreds a month, where does it all go? Remember, the average person gets into a car accident every 17.9 years. Really think about what I just said and let it sink in!

State Farm's retirement is 25-years. I have had at least two other people work for State Farm.
Both employees worked within months of retirement and got fired for BS reasons.
It isn't just the insured they abandoned. It's their own employees too.
Anything for a buck, State Farm is there.
