In this video, you'll learn how the family environment is important to the recovery of individuals with schizophrenia. Even though the disorder can be a frustrating illness, family members can help the process of recovery in many ways.

I am one of the family member who firmly believe that schizophrenia have a moral cause, I encourage my brother who's schizophrenic to change, to be responsible, to eat when it's time to eat, to do the things he loves to do (he loves playing the drum), and I always remind him of his potential to overcome this illness. It worked for us, he began to talk normally again and become more responsible of his own life, before that my dad always remind him to take medications, now he take medication even before we even remind him. I believe in will power, it's a mental illness, it's also a mental battle.

This only works if the family member with schizophrenia knows they have it. 50% of people with schizophrenia DO NOT KNOW they have it (anosognosia). Please provide some tips for those that do not know they have it 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
