Their chemistry is unmatched, the writers had the opportunity to make them one of the iconic endgames out there but they wasted it, so sad to think of what they could have been.

It’s crazy how the writers write Ruby as a side characters in the first place and ppl started to fall in love with her character more than the actual main characters. It’s a wasted opportunity not to give her the happy ending she deserves.

The internet is saddened by the showrunners not giving Ruby and Otis their chance. I'm like, really really bummed we didn't get that to happen, and I think it has everything to do with that beautiful acting performance Mimi Keene gave us with her tough, popular character being vulnerable with Otis, then getting her heart broken by him. We wanted her to get her love story!

what the writers should have done to close it is by Otis taking ruby to a quite place and have an honest talk with her, where he actually takes responsibility for his behavior towards her and give a way more sincere apology, which she would happily accept, then it could've been open to interpretation whether there might be a future for them or not.. the ending they did was really bad with Otis's relationships not because of Maeve's decision to go back to America, it's because of the huge disservice they did to Otis and ruby's relationship as a whole...

Maeve had struggled through her life and she needs someone by her side for real. But the way Ruby enters the game and when she disclose everything to Otis because she truly started trusting him & love him from her core of the heart & as obvious that Otis & maeve always have some sort of interruption in their relationship & ended knowing that they could nerver meet each other would be prefered to Ruby to get into the position as she was lonely at every moment.
