I’m a Protestant and firmly believe in infant baptism

Also, in the Old Covenant, God commanded infants to be circumcised on the 8th day as a sign that they entered the covenant. Baptism is the replacement of old testament circumcision. It’s the sign by which we enter the new covenant. Funny thing is that even the first protestants like luther and calvin believed and taught infant baptism. So if luther’s protest was supposedly inspired by the Spirit to fix the Catholic church, then why do you Protestants reject his teachings on baptism and the real presence?

Acts 2:38-39 says that the promise of baptism is for us and our children

The issue with using the verse from Acts 16 is that the Bible does not say if there were infants. That doesn’t mean there were not and it doesn’t mean that there were any. It’s not a sound argument for baptism of infants or against baptism of infants for this reason. It’s an argument from silence.

I’m non-denominational and this just changed my mind. Thank you

Not the same Sacrament, but I wish it was more 'routine'to do Confirmation at an older age, like 16 or 17.
I had mine at 13, and I wasn't ready to take on an independent journey in my faith. I didn't fully grasp the importance of the responsibility

No babies cannot actively choose Christ! It has to be an individual decision based on their sin and faith in Jesus. We can can raise out children to pursue God but only they have the choice to choose for themselves

Regardless of our beliefs, we're all gods children!

I mean this seems to be based off of jumps in logic

1) Correct Practice doesn't prove correct theology
2) None of the Apostles talked about removing original sin by Baptism
3) The household argument isn't good since many households then and now do not have infants
You do that right thing for the wrong reason and bad exegesis.

A rebuttal I would have is the just because the Apostles did it doesn’t mean it’s correct or should be done.

Baptism does save. Christ’s Church has been baptizing everyone (including infants) since AD 33.

‭Acts 19:3-6 KJV‬
[3] And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.
[4] Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
[5] When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
[6] And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

If you are saying you are okay with infant baptism again think again pray to GOD and ask if you are really saved.

Where in the Bible did it say that the apostles baptized infants. The Apostle Paul got baptized after he confessed through his mouth that Jesus is lord

Baptism is not the same as circumcision. Circumcision is the physical mark of a jew. Baptism is the mark of being born again of the spirit.

That's a really good point though

But how do you know the house hold had infants, because children can know Christ but babies can't. So why do you jump to babies

Repent and be baptized. Not be baptized and then repent. It has to be a conscience decision.
