Here's a tip for mechanics. Never hold a tool unnecessarily over a bike while working on it. Never use a hand for something else if you already have a tool in it (barrel adjusting with a wrench in that hand). You wouldn't want to scratch a new $5300 Factor frame.

I really enjoyed this one. The specific how-to videos will always have their place, but I'd love to see more of these abstract technique/theory videos.

The headlamp is a game-changer. I keep one hanging on the repair stand all the time. I also keep a little flashlight in the tool box, so handy.

NEVER put your repairstand and bike over the lawn. Drop a small part and it will never be found again

Know when to stop a job and walk away for a while .
If needed Clear your head, have a think and come back to it . Dont rush the job .

I lay out some kitchen towel and put the parts in order on that and put the tools I use to take them off inline with them. Headlamps are great

Great tips! My favourite is the last 1, as I have about every bike tool going and I get nervous giving them out.

Good tips especially number 1 & 2, seeing properly on what you're woking on. It's difficult sometimes when helping someone in a bike CG or forum without any visual aids. A little video or some pictures would help massively in diagnosing the problem! Thanks PT!

Considering Calvin's ultimate wizard status, I would have thought he would have an office with ocean's view. As for Truman's under the staircase office space, that's probably because he brought back a borrowed tool all greasy and dirty one time too many. That should teach him.
