I have a feeling tech CEOs realized that AI might be able to take their jobs and do a better job, imagine an AI that promises to let its salary be distributed back into things like Safety measures or increasing the pay of the workers that keep it operating.

The answer to Ai is universal healthcare, housing and UBI. I'm fortunate that I've paid my bills purely from my artwork for 24 years and counting. I'm not afraid Ai will take away my ability to be an artist. It WILL affect my ability to make the living (that I have worked so hard for 30 years to cultivate) as I have no other skills. I'm moving house right now and have been getting really angry about either having to call companies to cancel accounts I'll no longer need, or calling them to change the address. Yet I could sign up in a click. It's not just companies in the US that do that, they do it here in the UK, too. It needs fixing. Especially the "I need to cancel my broadband or cable account because you don't serve the area I'm moving to" case

the problem isnt that ai will take human jobs necessarily, the problem is that massive corporations arent willing to restructure society in such a way that doesn't involve having people working day in and day out as wage slaves. the solution isnt banning ai, the solution is paying workers the same (honestly more based on the value of their work) despite ai making their jobs easier
