The sim is a "sweat box". Not if you have a good instructor it isn't. In fact not if you have an INSTRUCTOR period. Trouble is many instructors aren't instructors at all and take more pleasure in proving themselves right, you wrong, and don't have a genuine concern for their students success that is FELT by the students. Simply put, selfishness.
Selfishness is what blocks these instructors from improving themselves, because they have a title and don't realize improvement is infinite. In their lack of improvement they fail to improve their students, and have more interest in their positions to further themselves then their students.
