LYRICS:
Doctor, my eyes have seen the years
And the slow parade of fears without crying
Now I want to understand
I have done all that I could
To see the evil and the good without hiding
You must help me if you can

Doctor, my eyes
Tell me what is wrong
Was I unwise
To leave them open for so long

As I have wandered through this world
And as each moment has unfurled
I’ve been waiting to awaken from these dreams
People go just where they will
I never noticed them until I got this feeling
That it’s later than it seems

Doctor, my eyes
Tell me what you see
I hear their cries
Just say if it’s too late for me

Doctor, my eyes
They cannot see the sky
Is this the prize
For having learned how not to cry

He’s a musical genius. Way before his time and never got the recognition he deserves.

Now this is music. The 70s, what a time to be alive! Just as incredible today. Thank you, Jackson!

My husband(then boyfriend) and I have been dedicated Jackson Browne fans since he played the Mississippi River Festival @ Southern Illinois University in 1972 for the band Yes and again in 1973 for the band America. Finally in 1977, he was there as a top musician himself! We have seen him each time he came to St. Louis and watched him continue to grow even better with every concert and through all of his stances on human dignity and causes that are close to
his heart. You can feel his passionate convictions in his music still after all these years. ❤

I love that Jackson posts so much of his music online. Such a generous spirit.

A young Jackson B. Could write lyrics like these because he is of the best educated American generation to come after WW2.The people we educate now are subpar from subpar teachers that is why we are 17th among nations of the Earth.Academics are about money and not the calling.

It freaks me out a little seeing him looking this old, I guess because I do too. I listened to his first four albums so many times I had them memorized. When we come to the place where the road and the sky collide, throw me over the edge and let my spirit glide.
