It’s 1972 again and I’m 17, running around with my high school buddies, listening to the best of early 70s rock. We shall never pass this way again. 😪

I was 11 when this sing arrived. Too young to see the world as the song suggests. This song is VERY relevant today. ty JB

As a retired soldier who served in Iraq, Afghanistan and Africa, this song has so much meaning.

I cannot fathom how anyone could dislike this. This was a top 40 hit in the early 70's when I was an early teen. What a time for music. I feel bad for young people now who have no idea what real music is.

I dont know if anyone else can relate but: I am retired homicide investigator. I worked murder cases for 22 years of a 27 year career. Jackson may not have known it, but he wrote this for every police officer and first responder who has had to endure the pain and suffering of others, and try to block it out on the job. It's immense, how deeply this hits home. I love this song, and I love you Jackson.

What a great era of music the 70's were! To have lived through that time is so gratifying!

This is what I call a "go to" song because I feel its a person reflecting on the summation of their life.I call this a go to song its what I listen to whenever I think about my parents (R.I.P) my cousins, Nick and Critter(R.I.P.) and all the changes I've seen in my life and they are bittersweet moments & memories! This and "Running on Empty" as well

Man I love Jackson Browne and this song! Takes me back to where music meant something. Reminds me of my brother who I was close to who passed a couple years ago

Rest In Peace. My sister Beverly who showed me so much music, harmony and broaden my musical palate from 70’s Rock, RnB and beyond. I love you Bugs. 😍
The movie “Indians that rocked the world” brought me here. The solo guitarist was Indian. A proud Indian!
RIP Jesse Ed Davis.

Songs such as this one mean much more to me as I get older. It's like I get it now.

"People go just where they will, but I never noticed them until I got this feeling that it's later than it seems"
That line is haunting, given our current predicament, teetering on the precipice.
Ohh, ... and let's all give some props to that bass player.... Holy crap is that some deep texture.

My music genre is predominately R&B being black. But I grew up an avid fan of AB and fell in love early with songs of this quality. So, Jackson Browne is an artist from this era whose music I adore.

If I'm left with only one song to sing, I'd be okay if it were this song. I mean cmon, Jackson is the man who taught the eagles how to write songs!

So great. LOVE that you had Jesse do that guitar with you in this song. Takes it up to another level. Adore when artists get together to make something with such an impact. Still amazing today...
