Sadly, for a = kx to be true, the approximation sin(x) = x is applied.

The real motion is described by a nonlinear second order differential equation, a = ksin(x). Nonlinear correspondences to the presence of the sine function.

This means that there is no any exact solution for the motion of a pendulum and simulations can only provide a numerical solution.

i honestly didn't realise that's how the amplitude was defined - you've indicated it to be the length of the straight line between highest and lowest point of the pendulum bob in its swing?

How does swinging one's leg out on a swing increase resonance? Also I'm not clear on the cos and sin graphs covered at the beginning I was hoping for more breakdown!
