Was supposed to get the 16” but I decided to just wait for the one with ARM. Quite excited ngl

I am planning an upgrade for my 2 year old 13in MacBook Pro. I’ve been wanting to switch to the 16in, or at least wait for a 14. Late 2021 would be the correct timing, so I think I’ll wait to see exactly when the redesign is coming.

What about current apps designed to work with Intel chips? Are we now stuck with (>gasp<) *_emulation_* (again)?

I was thinking about buying the entry level 2020 MacBook Pro and I was actually going to buy one Tuesday. Should I wait for Apple silicon? I have a laptop rn but it’s old and cheap but Apple silicon doesn’t really seem like that much to me also the redesign isn’t much i don’t use touch screen on any computers that have it so the only thing I’m getting from the redisigned MacBook is a better screen. Is it worth the wait or should I get one right now. Also money is a pretty big factor because I’m not buying anything over 1400

I am looking to get the $1700 MacBook Pro shortly but thinking I should wait for the redesign. But the 14” would suit me better as there is 2 apps I would love on a Mac but they are not available, snapspeed and LumaFusion. I have a GoPro Max (360 camera) and it kills most laptops with the processing power it needs for the files, however a iPad Pro handles them with ease

I really want to buy the 14“ pro when it comes out but I’m pretty sure it will cost more than the base 13“ pro so I probably end up getting this one. But I’m also very curious about the new MacBook Air, if it doesn’t has any heat issues anymore and gets much better performance and batterylife it is maybe the better choice than the 13“ pro

Great videos, I was thinking on buying the current MacBook Pro 16 for school, photo and video editing. Should I wait for the arm Mac or wait?

Bought the 2020 macbook pro (intel) have doubts about the new arm chips functioning with apps all across the spectrum. In due time it'll be good enough to be compatible with all software. Maybe in 2-4 years I'll switch to macbook arm

I need advice because I want to buy a MacBook Pro 16 i9 in a few days but for now, I don't know if it's not better to wait for a MacBook Pro 16 with Apple Silicon :III

So excited for a 14in or 16in MacBook Pro for video editing on FCPX. If there are coprocessors and the software to take advantage of it we could get amazing editing performance with battery life!
All I do on my computer mostly is video editing, 85% of the time. The rest is productivity software which is easily handled by ARM processors.

Should I get the MBP 16 rn then? I’m so confused because leaks are saying a new one is coming in 2021.

It will be a struggle to pass and wait for the smaller bezel models. I really don't know what I'll do when the time comes.

Are they going to drop prices with these new chips or no?

So Apple silicon is apples own processors? Instead of using a 3rd party like intel, is that correct?

Heard that you won't be able to use windows through a Macbook or it won't be optimized? Is that true? If I want to play pc games it won't be possible?

The most realistic sounding prognostications I have heard yet. This release sequence would quite similar to the approach taken in 2005-6 with the PPC-Intel transition: first in February 2006, MacBook Pro models externally identical to the previous PPC PowerBook models were released, differing primarily in just the processor. A second minor update to better Intel processors happened in October 2006. Then in July 2007, new MacBook Pro models were released with new display technology — the LED backlight. It seems to me that Apple like to keep the initial transition to managing just the processor switch, keeping as many variables as possible unchanged. Will be interesting to see.
