The M1 chip. The first Mac chip that is truly meant for Mac. It’s sitting right there and I’m calling it, that’s what they’re gonna do.

Spends 2 minutes just talking about what letter to start the name of the processor in the Mac

Now that’s an Apple sheep

I would make the 13“ MacBook Air a 14“ MacBook :) the Rest is Perfect

My guess with the processors is that they will be similar to when Apple used PowerPC chips. So back then, for example, you'd have a family of G3 processors with relatively minor differences overall. Then within each family there would be a few different processors with different clock speeds (pro devices would be faster than consumer devices) and different variants that were slightly more optimized for one form factor or another. For example, the last iBook g3 and iMac g3 used a slightly more power efficient version of the G3 than the earlier iMacs and Power Macs did.

I could totally see this happening again where the first generation is called the P1 (or Z1 or whatever) and that chip has a 1.2 ghz (yes I am just copying the current clock speeds bite me) chip that is slightly more power efficient in the MacBook Air, then the 13" Pro gets a 2.0 ghz variant that's a little less power efficient, with the 16" Pro possibly getting another slightly faster version and the option for say dual processors. Then on the desktop side the mini might get a slightly less power efficient version of the 2.0ghz 13" pro chip (with the option to upgrade to a less efficient version of the 16" Pro chip). Then the iMacs would get less efficient versions of the 16" Pro chip with options to do dual processors or even higher clock speeds. The finally the Mac Pro would get the least efficient chips with the highest clock speeds and options for multiple processors to get up to ridiculously high core counts. From Apple's point of view they could save money this way by binning the chips without the user noticing.

If all Apple Silicon Macs will have their GPU on the SoC, I think it’ll be interesting if they add options like the afterburner card for the 16” MBP into the build option. It’ll make the Mac very unique in the laptop space.

No I’d say there could be space for a MacBook Air and Pro as the Air could be quite a bit thinner but with current a bit better battery life where the Pro could be the same thickness as now but far better battery life

Having only two sizes of Mac would mean that anyone who has bad vision would have to buy the highest end to be able to see it

The fact that their chips are now going to have superior heatsinks with active cooling is a massive factor. On top of that, they can also make the chip physically larger due to the space available inside. I think the performance that we're going to see in the likes of the 16" MBP is going to blow all of the competition straight out of the water big time causing Intel to play catch-up.

Love the idea of a shrunken down Mac Pro. It's like you said with the laptops and the iMacs, a consumer version, and a pro version. The big boy is called the Mac Pro, and maybe they call the consumer one just "Macintosh"? Idk I really love the idea. I'd buy a small Mac Pro.

For myself, well there are only two apple computers both desktops that, I would even care about. The first is the iMac Pro which, I hope will get updated in a major way with a new apple designed processor. My second model is the mac mini which, I hope will also get a major update along with the inclusion of a new apple designed internal graphics processor.

Hopefully they implement the Face ID into Mac, just a simple wish, keyboard stays the same like current will be just fine

Two additions:
1. MBP getting built in afterburner?
2. Mac Pro isn’t getting smaller or losing compatibility except with graphics cards.

Do we think the Ram will still be used upgradable?

Will the Mac Mini get shrunk down to Apple TV size? It isn't really that mini any more compared to say an Intel NUC.

Apple could even let the users choose between an efficiency or a performance processor. I mean it works with the Tesla models, so why not here
