Five Questions to Ask Your Children

Показать описание
As our children get older and more independent, I’ve realized that without intention, we could go days and weeks without getting to their hearts and knowing what’s going on inside of them. Oftentimes, they don’t even know.
When I can steal away a few minutes alone with one of my children, I try to get the conversation going with a question or two. I often share my own answer first. This helps break down walls and get them thinking as well.
Usually those one or two questions open up a door to vulnerability and their hearts are open to sharing other things going on inside of them.
The key to all of this, though, is being a present listener. They need to know you care about what they’re saying and are ready to receive and respond with grace and love.
Ok, on to the questions. SAVE this and write these down to remember.
1. What’s something in your life right now causing you worry?
2. What are you most excited about right now?
3. What’s something you’ve been wanting to know or learn that I can help you with?
4. What’s something that you’ve been thinking about a lot lately?
5. What’s something you and I could do together to help you feel more connected to me?
I’m always pondering new questions to ask and would love to hear yours in the comments. ⬇️
