If your dog is REALLY traumatized by all clippers, ive learned you can use a nail filer as long as u do it more frequently. That may help some ppl give their dogs more confidence to work towards clippers.

I’m always so nervous about even getting close to the quick. From the top down, there’s a distinct line where the pink starts, but from the side when I shine a light, the pink seems to stick out a bit further. I don’t cut anywhere near that, but it feels like I’m barely cutting anything at all. I’ve had much more success with a grinder. Mostly because it makes me feel more confident by smoothly working then down than snapping chunks of nail off at a time.

I was show it is easier to bend the paw back and up, rather than forward. I tried with them laying down it is easier.
