Forgive me for looking and sounding terrible. I was really sick this day!

"Meme culture is great, but it's also terrible."

That may be the truest thing that can ever be spoken.

Julius caesar has been dead for about 2 millenia so saying “he’s been dead for over 70 years” is correct but incredibly imprecise

John Adams' last words were "Thomas Jefferson survives."; they were lifelong rivals, but Jefferson died hours before him.

We have a doctor reacting to memes, a lawyer, then a priest, now we have a history teacher.

"I don't know John Adams last words, they were famous weren't they?"
Famous last words.

John Adams' last words were, "Thomas Jefferson still survives" but he did not know that Jefferson died a few hours before him. They both died on July 4th, 1826, the 50th anniversary of the U.S. Independence

Genghis Khan's feigned retreat is even more impressive when you take into account the psychological part of it. In the battle of Kalka River, the Mongols led an enemy army on a 9 day chase before springing a trap they had set.
The point is, to be able to get into a persons head and make them chase you for that long, with them believing they'll catch you, is simply incredible.

So, the Julius Caesar one at 21:26.

He was assassinated in 44 BC.

Which, technically speaking, is well over 70 years ago.

Like, way, way, way over 70 years ago.

Which is why the other person hates that OP put it that way.

Also, at 10:58 for the rifle meme. So that meme is the boardroom suggestion meme, where the meeting chair (first panel) raises a question for the company's course of action. Two yes men make outlandishly stupid suggestions that fall in line with PHB's mental midgetry, while the third person makes some reasonable suggestion to move forward in a positive direction... and is subsequently chucked out the window.

In this case, it's rifles, circa WWI/WWII. The ones that are "cric crac"ing are bolt-action rifles typical for the European powers. Being bolt actions, they would be fired, then the soldier has to charge the next round manually (that's the "cric crac", the sound of the bolt action being pulled open, then pushed closed to charge the next round). The last one is the M1 Garand carried by US soldiers. A semi-automatic rifle with 5-8 round clip that, when the clip was emptied, would make a loud "CLING!" as the clip end lodged the action open and alerted the soldier to reload.

Fun fact, while all the rifles are using "PAN" as a stand-in for the sound of them firing, each country's weapon of choice made a distinct sound when being fired. If you were to wander up on a battle with both forces concealed, you could tell who was where based on the sounds of their weapons as they were firing.

Garand joke is the whole "World War 2 guns were all bolt actions, except for that damned American gun."

John Adams' last words were: "Thomas Jefferson survives." however, during that very day, Thomas Jefferson had actually died.

History memes are pretty great. Long as you understand it. Though I may just like them cause I’m a history nerd.

We're gonna have to keep bombarding him with memes until he adapts and begins to properly understand meme culture

John Adams final words were "Thomas Jefferson survives", unaware that his friend had already passed away hours earlier.
