Businessman sentenced to 92 years jail, 44 strokes of rotan for cheating

A businessman was sentenced to 92 years jail and 44 strokes of rotan by the Sibu magistrate's court on Thursday after pleading guilty to 44 charges of cheating.

However, the accused, Ling Tzer Sheng, 29, only has to serve 40 months imprisonment after Magistrate Muhammad Faizal Che Saad ordered that the sentences run concurrently but the 44 strokes of rotan still stand.

As far as I am concern, the maximum strokes of the cane is only until 24 times according to the law. How come it is 44 strokes which is doesn’t make sense?

Totally miscarriage of law. Why are the strokes so heavy? Will the people in the Nation under court trials also be accorded just as many strokes? Is this kind of justice meted out to the ordinary man in the street. Justice should be equal and fair to all.

Rasanya 10 rotan pun dah mcm nak mati, mcm mana 40 ni. 1st rotan kulit terkeluar, x boleh tido sebulan, sakit. Mcm mana kalau 40 kali. Ermmm. Pity this guy, I don't know what to say oredy. Daripada experienced documentary yang aku tgok, boleh mati, jika individual x tahan.

Even in other countries, murder cases will get the murderer to sentence for less than 50 years behind the bar. Why does this cheating businessman get 92 years of jail? Did he kill someone while cheating their money?
