That little bit at the beginning, wow. I can only imagine how nervous Bowie and Hutch were, hoping that the label suits would like their song. My favorite version is the 1979 acoustic remake, but this is lovely also.

This has always been my favorite version of this song by far. I first heard it on a Bowie cd in the 80's which I think was called Sound+Vision. I think it was one of the first music cd's that also had other media on it, which you could access via a computer cd-rom drive. We've come a long way since then!

This is the cleanest version I've heard. Most of the Bowie/Hutch stuff I hear sounds pretty rough. Hope the Bowie estate finally releases the whole tape at some point. Love this period of Bowie's career.
