I remember the moment we heard the bad news. Our youth leader at the time had just moved down there when he accepted a call a church needed a youth leader. His neighborhood was spared from severe damages, by about a block away.
We jokingly said something like, It's a sign you shouldn't have left, but he's like, It's a sign I moved here just in time to help them.

I'd never live in Moore, OK, Joplin, MO or Tuscaloosa, AL. They're all tornado magnets.

Well, the sirens didn't go off on May 6th when yet another smaller tornado hit Joplin!

I lived in the Somerset apartments at 20th and Connecticut. I am only alive today because of my roommate Jacob and the good Lord above! Most terrifying experience of my entire life.
