As a protestant, we need to work together to bring the world to Christ.

This is huge man.

I realized this too. Thanks for shining light the issues our brothers and sister face. I hope I can be better at spreading the good news

2 important pillars of evangelization in the early church were the teachings (didache) and the good news (kerygma).

Unfortunately, for a lot of us, we've held on too much on the teachings part of it. Telling people what is sin and when they are living in sin. All the while forgetting of the Kerygma. Yes, we are sinners. Yes, sometimes it would feel like we are unforgiveable because of the depth of our sins, but guess what? We can repent. Ask for forgiveness and God's mercy. And it will be given to us.

Brothers I want to remind you, the good news that I preach to you, the same that I received.

That Christ died for our sins, according to the scriptures. That he was raised to life

What greater love is there than this? To bleed out for the people who put him there in the first place.

And that's the good news. That God has so much love. That God IS love.

As a Lutheran myself. I actually understand this point very well and actually it's not just Catholics. I think that every denomination actually has this problem. We're so caught up with the itty bitty details that we forget the bigger picture. For every church out there please hear me every foundation that you make for your church. The deeds that they do the teachings. Anything they do make the foundation Christ because if we start focusing on Christ more then we can start bringing more people to him.

As a body, every thing cannot be a thumb or the body would not operate properly. Different members of the body have different functions. This is where our denominational differences are actually beneficial to each other as long as we can just remember the commonalities we share. The right foot cant keep arguing about why the right hand doesnt have toes (or vice versa).

As a Protestant. I have so so so much respect for my Catholic brothers and sisters, even though there’s things I disagree with. I wish I had the knowledge you all have of the early church and the church fathers. It’s truly incredible. And I wish I had the same.
But at the same time Paul says in 1 Corinthians 3. We plant the seed, and we water it. But it’s up to God who grows it. And the Spirit guides us as we evangelize if we let them. So I hope that both the Protestants and Catholics will be led by the spirit and not by their own attempt. God bless❤

Very good point, sometimes people get too caught up in denominations and forget Jesus is the entire point

As a 38 year old cradle Catholic I make the case based on the experiences that I had that my Catholic peers are not only ignorant of the authentic faith but are I am sorry to say some of the most standoffish, cold, distant, unapproachable people not much different or better than my peers outside of the Church. I would expect a little better from my Catholic peers because well they ought to know better! I was wrong! I can’t help but notice the elderly at church always smiling and waving at me and I smile and wave back. Most young adult Catholics however are frown faced cold and distant go straight to the confession and straight out otherwise they go straight to the pews and straight out! The difference between the affable elderly and cold young adults is like night and day! I joked that we need a piano tuner on hand to untighten their butts! Another observation I have is that I have Muslim friends from the Middle East who all treat me as a brother with great warmth and love. Again the contrast between them and the coldness of most young adults here both inside and outside of the Church who barely give me the time of day still astonishes me! I will always be thankful to my middle eastern Muslim brothers! When the elderly here as well as young middle eastern Muslim guys are doing laps around young people here when it comes to good social skills, having a good personality, being authentically human instead of a robot, you got some major problems! If it weren’t for my firm belief in the Catholic Church as God’s only ordained religion I would have left it years ago for something like Islam! And while I will always remain Catholic if I had to choose between associating with the warmth my true brothers in the Middle East and my more bitterly cold and distant peers here, hands down want to be with the former! And anybody with two brain cells rubbing together regardless of religion and nationality would do the same!

we as Christians are tasked with sharing the Word and the Gospel with others, no argument we provide will ever convince someone who doesn't believe no matter how convincing we believe it to be. It is only once the Holy Spirit reveals the truth to the sinner by changing (quickening) their heart and wills in order to believe that they will repent and place faith in Jesus. We require the Holy Spirit to convict and convince, we cannot do that no matter how hard we try. "I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. 26And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules." Ezekiel 36v25-27

Me and my Catholic friends sometimes invite our non-Catholic friends to Mass. This way, we aren't necessarily trying to convince them, but instead just opening them up to Catholicism.

As a prodestant I absolutely respect my catholic brothers and sisters for their theological knowledge and I would love to see a revival of intellectualism for prodestants

To turn to Christ though, one must be humble and is seeking for the truth, which frankly, I don't see in many agnostics/atheists today.

Right Paul says that the power of God unto salvation is the gospel not winning arguments or debates(tho it’s good to know arguments) but at the end of the day we don’t convince people to turn to Jesus the gospel is what saves.

I remember one time I was talking to an atheist friend, about how God exists, and I gave him all these arguments. Then when I finished talking, he was just like, “Well, I don’t believe in God.” So as a Catholic myself, I kinda needed to hear this.
