How do you maintain the proper slop of the Kerdi Tray with Center Drain when you put the Ditra Heat membrane on top? Do you need to cut the Kerdi Heat Membrane into triangles to maintain the pre-slope of the tray?

Is there another video showing how to complete the waterproofing when using the (round) Kerdi drain? This video is great but it focuses on the linear drain with only a couple brief shots of the Kerdi drain. In particular I’m looking to clarify how to seal the Ditra/Kerdi membrane to the drain. Schluter’s written instructions refer to using a 20x20” piece of membrane which is confusing.

Kinda weird how schluter rep says run sensor In the shower but with my experience and this video say not to so who’s right. I know the heat from the shower will turn it off but the rep contradicted this video good job schluter

"We will be using unmodified thinset morter throughout this video" then at the 5:55 mark, the ditra heat is applied to plywood. Is this acceptable to use unmodified thinset morter to attach ditra membrane to plywood?

Hello all, do I have to tile thinset once the ditra-heat is installed? Can I cover it with a thick layer of mortar, stain it with concreate stain, paint it a little and leave it at that?

This video states "since we're using kerdi-line, the cable is spaced 3 studs from the flange." However, the installation handbook states "1 inch minimum from edge of kerdi-line channel body." Which is correct?

I bought a 60"x38" CURBED shower kit, but need to install it as curbless. I'm recessing the floor where the shower will be installed, but how best to match the 1-1/8" perimeter height? Is 1-1/8" T&G Sheathing Plywood acceptable for the remainder of the bathroom, or should I install something else on top of the 3/4" plywood before adding the Ditra Heat? My plan is to install the Ditra-Heat system throughout the bathroom and shower.

@Schluter-Systems I'm confused regarding the waterproofing membrane over the heating wires. I haven't seen this in the installation guide. What is the purpose of adding the extra waterproofing? Does it add extra safety or there is another reason to use it in the shower area only? Also from thermal point of view - doesn't the extra "plastic"/membrane layer reduce the heat transfer?

Good product (among many others), however, obscenely expensive. Due in part to their “pyramid scheme”, distribution model. Schluter sells to distributors, who sell to dealers, who sell to trades, who then do your project. How many layers of profit can you put between the manufacture and the end user before the prices are RIDICULOUS ???!!!

Hi, I'm gonna install ditraheat in my shower over plywood and kerdi membrane on top of it. If I use modified thinset for the ditraheat over plywood, unmodified thinset over ditraheat for the kerdi membrane, and unmodified thinset for the ceramic over the kerdi membrane, am I doing it right? Thanks a lot!

anyone no where to get a work bib like the one he is wearing ?

The Kerdi Shower kit I purchased comes with a shower tray with integrated waterproofing membrane. In the video I noticed the installer using a blank tray without the kerdi membrane attached to the top. Is this required or can I use the shower tray I have and sandwich the ditra heat between the membranes?

Do I need the waterproof membrane over the heating wire if I use a sloped Schluter pan or is just thinset okay?

Can I install the Ditra Heat membrane on top of the KERDI-SHOWER pan? If so, would I install Ditra Heat, and then the waterproofing membrane, or the waterproofing membrane first?

How are the shower and floor circuits combined? Same thermostat?

Hey Schluter
I’ve noticed in this video you’ve cut the two pieces of foam that normally surround the channel body, and you have the pre fab tray cut to the exact width of the channel body. I didn’t know this was an option, can I in fact do this? I would like to eliminate those two ears that surround the channel body. Thank you
