Microsoft AutoDev is Here! Fully Autonomous SOFTWARE DEVELOPERS
Get ready for the future of making computer programs! Microsoft AutoDev is here, bringing a big change to how people write code. Picture this: instead of spending a long time typing out lines of code, developers can now use Microsoft AutoDev to do it for them. This new way of coding saves time and lets developers focus on being creative and solving problems.

Before, coding used to be really hard because of mistakes in the code and fixing them. But now, Microsoft AutoDev uses smart technology like artificial intelligence and machine learning to look at what's needed and create good code all by itself. Whether you've been coding for a while or you're just starting, this tool will change the way you make software. You won't have to do the same tasks over and over again – it's a whole new level of getting things done.

So, what makes Microsoft AutoDev different from other tools that write code automatically? Well, it's not just about using basic patterns and templates. AutoDev uses advanced tricks to understand exactly what your project needs. It makes code that fits perfectly with what you're working on, whether it's a mobile app, a website, or something more complex.

Come be a part of this big change and try out Microsoft AutoDev for yourself! No more manual coding – say hello to a world where developers can do more. With AutoDev, there's so much you can do. Step into the future today and make your coding experience even better.

Sounds like actually writing the code is easier than setting this up (especially when you are NOT writing cloud based/web frontend software).
I am using AIs quite some while now to help in my development projects. So far it does not change much, at best I am a little bit faster.
If this is not factor 1000 times better than what is available now then nothing will change at all. If anything you will need more developers because you added yet another layer of complexity.

Like everything else. Development is now being automated. Nothing is off-limits. Ideas will make the world turn.

It seems that we'll have another layer of complexity. Devs will still be required to setup and maintain that thing. No, your boss wont do it, nor his suit-and-tie team.

What I heard in that video is that there's now a program that can automatically screw up your code with a single click. The batty AI that frequently gets things wrong, forgets pieces of data, and occasionally makes stuff up, now has the ability to modify your code directly, spreading its confusion across your entire codebase.

As a dev i say - bring them on. Its Microsoft. They cant even patch Windows without breaking it!

The concept of fully autonomous software developers, like "Microsoft AutoDev, " is not yet a reality

Honestly, I feel threatened as a developer with all these AI tools that are surfacing the tech industry. But I am somehow confident that at some point they gonna need us.

A lot of marketing, no demo yet. As a proverb says "a paper tiger is not a threat to a real tiger". Let's wait for Microsoft's GitHub repo with useful open-source projects done by AutoDev.

Good move beyond programming, Problem Solving skills will still be in demand and guess who are most suited to take up those upcoming jobs? Software Devs

As an experienced user of AI, my advice to you is that you shouldn't fall for the AI hype. There are too many terrible programmers out there and should developers be replaced by AI someday, it would be your strong programming expertise that would let you keep your job.

Think about it this way. When AI replaces most developers, your extreme proficiency in any given language that allowed you to keep your job, will set you as a technical overseer of a company's AI generated codes, and your task would be to review and modify them making sure they are safe, robust, and meet company expectations.

So do learn to program even today, and learn it well.

But how good, secure and efficient is this code? So far AI used code it saw created by users and therefor AI delivers a lot of crap code. I never got code from an AI that I could use without rewrites. It's good for inspiration, but man... Some code you get is just insecure, slow or just not working.

How far can we actually trust the code we get? Is coding now becoming just controlling and checking the AI?

when the autoDev make your own next version without human i believe it.

Cmon AI hype! Let me present to you my outsourcing old project with so much complicated and illogical business logic that coding is not a worry! Parse that and do my bindings. Until then…

Wouldn't use it now, but look difference from GPT3 -4, or AI video from 3 years ago. Give it 5 years and it will be exponentially better

Just wait for one occurrence of dangerous bug somewhere in the world directly caused by these AI tools, All the devs will be back into their roles !😂

Imagine what bugs in AUTODEV can do to software development!!! 😅

unfortunately for most experienced programmers and source code constructors, the perception that AI autodev is HYPE is unfortunate. as an experienced MOFFET CHIP designer, the advancements in gate all round chips as well as lithium niobate based photonic memristor chip stacks..including the recent development and investments into large layered silicon (LLS) such as cerebras means that autoagents WILL have the capacity to construct million plus code line programs with far greater complexity that any professional coder today. pls advise upcoming programmers to prepare themselves accordingly. 2025 will be the last year humans triumph over auto-dev AI options. AI will best humans by 2026
