Drone footage reveals Hurricane Milton destruction

Hurricane Milton has made landfall in Florida after 5.9 million people across the state were put under mandatory evacuation orders.

Tampa was hit by the northern wall of the storm as the eye made landfall near Siesta Key. Tornadoes ahead of the storm ripped across Florida’s Atlantic coast, killing some residents of a retirement home near Fort Pierce.

Milton was downgraded from a Category 5 on Wednesday to a Category 1 in the early hours of Thursday morning, but storm surges continue to threaten “catastrophic” flash-flooding — two weeks after Hurricane Helene wreaked havoc in Florida and other states.

Devastating. I feel for those people in Florida. Think themselves lucky that Milton became a category 3, then a 1. It could have been much worse. A frightening thing it must be to loose your home or business. I hope the electricity is restored quickly.
