Hurricane Milton: Drone shows flooded neighbourhoods, destruction in Florida

Drone video showed the severity of the damage caused by Hurricane Milton in Florida as it created a deadly path of destruction across the state, bringing floods, fierce winds and tornadoes from Venice to Fort Myers.

Notably, the hurricane tore a gaping hole in the fabric roof of Tropicana Field, the stadium of the Tampa Bay Rays baseball team in St. Petersburg, but there were no reports of injuries.

Aerial video showed Iona, Fla., swamped by floodwater, a community still reeling from the damage caused by the previous hurricane, Helene.

The storm caused at least five deaths.

While it was still bad, it definitely wasn't the storm predicted. It's giving boy who cried wolf. I'm glad it wasn't as bad as it was alleged to be, but, this could lead to more people thinking they could ride it out next time, and the next storm could be more fatal.
