Ann Rule wrote in her book "The Stranger Beside Me" that Ted Bundy was a nice guy who worked beside her as a telephone counselor in Seattle. She was floored when she realized that it was THAT Ted the police were looking for. It just goes to show that you really don't know someone like you think you do. 🤷🏼‍♀️

It’s a mistake of human judgment to assume that a psychotic monster must appear on the outside as one. But there are MANY examples of horrible monsters who appeared “normal” and “nice” on the outside.

I watch trials and true crime docs all the time...but, there is just something I can't quite pinpoint about this guy. His eyes send chills down my spine, like they have nothing behind them, his look altogether just shakes me to my core and I can not get an understanding on it!

His alleged murders make sense when you look back at many other killers' motives . It's all about what they internalize and obsess over. We all want to understand "why", but sometimes we just can't. Thank goodness that a jury does not have to know a motive to convict.

when i was in high school in 2001 i use to play euchre with a bunch of people during lunch period. less than 5 years later, one of those guys slit a cops throat and is in prison for life. he was a really nice, quiet guy who kept to himself. you never really know someone. 🤷🏻‍♀️

As to the victims he chose : these were 3 very attractive, fun- loving, happy young women who fit into society. They might have represented the women who would not have been interested in him, perhaps even the girls who had bullied him in elementary school. They loved life & other people - unlike him- and these very attributes might have made them his hated targets.

its not suspicious for a phD student in criminology to study the psychology of criminals but it does seem that he might have been trying to understand his own psychology surrounding potential and possibly persistent thoughts and urges of criminal activity.

My mama always told us in the 1960’s, “There’s a thin line between sanity and insanity”.

If this Bryan guy is the killer, I really hope he opens up and explain what was his motivation. This is a very weird confusing case

Nothing exists that 'could help us understand why' ANYONE would do this.

Coming next week…..Bryan’s first grade teacher remembers he had “bushy eyebrows” and “evil looking eyes”. Story at 11.

How many more random people are going to come out of the woodwork because they spent 5 minutes with this dude?

When you meet someone you never meet them, only their public representative. Sometimes you get to meet the person, sometimes you never do.

I don't believe that tinder chick! Has she shown any proof that this is true? just like during the Chris Watts case that weird guy came out and said that he was dating Chris and met him through tinder which later on was proving a lie

20 years ago, I was shot twice by a guy who had been stalking my girl (now my wife) and I for weeks. She broke it off with him months before without incident. We had no idea. I'm lucky to be alive today. My best advice to anyone is don't take tomorrow for granted. Also, you never truly know what someone's intentions are, no matter how long you've know them.

I can't help but feel that he may have killed before but just hasn't been caught until now.
Authorities need to look into Missing Person and Murder cases in places where he has lived and through places he may have travelled.

I had a friend who was accused of something really terrible and landed in prison for two decades. Still so creepy and confusing

Great reporting and commentary Jesse Weber! Always upfront, truthful and informative. New and interesting information is helpful in trying to understand the “why” of this heinous crime that was committed. Anxious to hear about the preliminary hearing & all that is divulged.
