Idaho Student Murders: Where Bryan Kohberger's Case Stands & What's Next

The prospect of a 2025 trial for Bryan Kohberger has gained traction after a recent hearing in Latah County District Court. Over a year ago, Moscow police announced the arrest of Kohberger for the murders of four University of Idaho students. Authorities allege Kohberger brutally stabbed Maddie Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, Ethan Chapin, and Xana Kernodle to death in their off-campus home.

The arrest came as a surprise to the public and opened new questions about the case that captivated the country. Law&Crime’s Angenette Levy talks with members of the community, forensics experts, Kohberger's former lawyer, and the attorney for Kaylee Goncalves’ family about the case, investigation, demolition of King Road, and whether Facebook user "Pappa Rodger" is Bryan Kohberger.

I remember during the investigation I was a mover doing jobs for moving brokers out of Portland Oregon and during the first month I must’ve drove out to Moscow Idaho and Pullman Washington a dozen or so times just to move students back home to their families because of how much fear they were living in. I feel really bad for the friends and family. My best friend was murdered a few months before this. The grief still hits me hard. It was a total shock, and was so senseless and sudden. I think about him almost every second of the day. His family is like my second family. Always took me in, playing video games all night with him, and his mom making us food and making us comfortable, going to college together in the same program and living together, working at the same job throughout highschool. I miss him so much. The killer only got 6 years in prison for "manslaughter". He was drunk and wanted to fight for no reason at all, pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the heart and with his two buddies, drove away from the scene covered in blood with the idiots 3 year old boy in the car. Hopefully they get the justice that Zacharey didn't get.

I still find it VERY strange that 2 of the people who lived in the home survived, one of them coming face to face with the killer...and THEN it took something like 8 hours for them to call the police? Im sure there's answers that we or me personally am unaware of, but if i were an investigator that is what id be working on.

Finally Ethan got a tiny bit of time. I have been all over this since it happened. Almost every video talks about the girls ad nauseum, with Ethan being an afterthought.
This whole scenario is horrible. Let's remember, 4 people were murdered, not 3.

Im the mother of a 20 year old at college, so im choked up here, it's incomprehensible the pain these parents have been forced to endure. I couldnt hold back tears hearing Maddie's Dad say she was their only child. Heaven help the families. One lunatic leaving so much pain in his wake. The world is watching this man. 🇮🇪❤

We are all ready for answers. Law enforcement/detectives must have a lot of evidence that we are unaware of as of yet. They seem to be dead set on Kohberger. The victims deserve justice, I sure hope they have the right guy.
