For a small community that admits they don’t see crimes of this magnitude they’ve had this case air tight from the beginning!! I applaud the efforts bringing this to trial to get an unbiased jury 👏🏼

This case is a reminder to those who were So Upset they weren't given information (excluding family of course) social media isn't where you hold a court of law. If you were 1 of those people complaining about information, I hope you learned your lesson....you don't deserve info....the court & law enforcement do what they do For A Reason.

Police had their guy from the getgo, but they had to be very careful hos they built their case to arrest him because they werent going just for an arrest but for a conviction. This is excellent police workm These guys should get textbooks written about their investigative work.

I'm 72 and, despite what I've seen all my life, I still can't fathom that people like this exist (assuming he's guilty of this crime) though they can be found all over the world throughout time. The amount of selfishness in him is way beyond comprehension as is the arrogance to think that he won't be caught, even valuing that crime over his freedom, to depersonalize others to a maximum extent, to not see his anger for what it really is, blaming his victims for his feelings instead of himself.

I give huge props to the Moscow PD handling this case the way that they have thus far. The fact that they reached out for additional assistance from Idaho State Police and the FBI from day one and kept the information that they knew close to the vest while they gathered the evidence to ensure that this guy was arrested and is ultimately brought to justice is laudable. I am sure that a lot more information will come to light throughout the course of this investigation, but we won’t be privy to that information until this case goes to trial. I hope that Maddie, Kaylee, Xana, and Ethan receive the justice that they deserve. My thoughts and prayers are with their families and loved ones.

My dad years ago worked on the Jeffery McDonald case the Army doctor who slaughtered his pregnant wife and 2 small baby girls and blamed it on hippies who broke in. My father said These Psychopath 's have absolutely No Remorse. They believe they can talk there way out of anything and we peons will just believe their story. I am so thankful today with advances in DNA and with circumstantial evidence that this guy will go down quickly and not torment these to much longer. Jeffery Mcdonald was found guilty but his trial went on forever.

I am so glad that the victim's families did not have to wait decades in order to find out who committed this heinous crime against their loved ones on top of the tragic circumstances that they are already having to cope with.

As a former Marine myself, a USMC knife/sheath is so sacred. It's so hard to imagine that someone like him with his knowledge about criminology would leave such an important large piece of evidence behind right on the bed. He "walked" out of house, so he was not in a rush. I find it so strange that the killer allowed two survivors unscathed. The report says his cellphone signal was picked up 12 times in the area of the crime scene likely because he carefully surveyed the house, which means that he counted the number of people in the home before entering yet he leaves out and doesn't even harm two of the occupants? It makes me wonder if maybe he had an accomplice or maybe he has a relationship with one of the "survivors". If the house is dark, how did she get such a good view of his bushy eyebrows and why would a smart guy like him not wear a hat or something to cover his face? Just seems fishy.

I think today more than ever before, law enforcement needs to NOT share any info with public. Armchair detectives on social media need to be reminded they need to back off. Especially when they directly or indirectly feel they have the right to accuse innocent people.

1) Why didn't the roommate call 911? 2) Why didn't he kill her? 3) He stabbed 4 people, didn't he leave a blood trail? Didn't she notice it? 4) If she heard crying and saw a masked man, at minimum why not let the roommates know what's going on?

As much grief that was given the Moscow PD Chief, this guy played this poker hand as good as you can play it. He and all involved deserve an apology from the all social media clowns.

I still cant believe how much damning evidence was just in the affidavit just for an arrest. They must have much more evidence. This POS made alot of mistakes during this horrible act and theyre gonna seal the trail up when it goes to court.

Thankfully, technology makes getting away with these types of crimes much more difficult in today’s world. This case most likely would’ve went unsolved if it took place 25-30 + years ago. All the key evidence was tech driven.

The fact that he has never looked surprised to be in custody and is calm and collect is proof enough for me. If I was drug out of my home in the early morning hours and then told I was being arrested for 4 homicides that I had no part in, i would be screaming from the mountain tops that I was innocent. I certainly wouldn't look comfortable under arrest for murdering 4 young adults.

Folks, I have had two very traumatic incidents in my life that literally put me to sleep. I am known to be very good in an emergency, but in these two incidents, the trauma was so great that my brain just shut down and I went to sleep for several hours. Once I awoke, I began to process what had occured and took appropriate action from them. The brain only lets us deal with trauma in increments that save us from mentally shattering.

A criminology expert who handled his murder weapon/sheath WITHOUT GLOVES, drove HIS OWN car to and from the crime scene, and left a witness ALIVE after already killing four others? Brilliant moves Einstein!

He probably left the sheath behind because, despite all his planning and criminal justice education about DNA evidence, once he began to commit the crime a kill-frenzy came over him and his intellect just went straight out the window. He could not enjoy the rush-emotions of the moment without also sacrificing his critical thinking and presence of mind.

As a criminologyst myself I find it extremely odd that DM did not attempt to make a single call after spotting a stranger in the house...not to the housemates, not to 911, not to anyone. I would highly question that conduct, something is off, I can't say what as I am not party to the investigation. But my logic tells me if you wake up in the middel off the night, hear whimpering or crying, spot a stranger and lock yourself into a room, you would at least make one or two calls to establish what is going on with your housemates...

This is just absolutely terrifying .. terrible for the victims who lost their lives, and terrible for the surviving roommates that'll forever be traumatized. I can't even fathom the sheer terror of what they saw that morning. Gut wrenching.
