It's not "lineage" per se that qualifies a contender to claim Messiahship, but Royal Lineage. In 2 Kings 11:1-3 the daughters of the King were not threatened by Athaliah because only males are Royal Seed (therefore Mary is excluded). Jesus' father would have to be a direct descendant of David's to be "Son of David". Don't get me wrong, I believe Jesus is the Messiah, but the NT genealogies are bogus in making that determination. I believe what Peter believed in Acts 2:30, that Jesus is the fruit of David's loins (not from someone else – see Rom 1:3).

Ack. No. Matthew shows the lineage of Jesus through his mother Mary. Count the generations. There should be 14 generations from Abraham to David, 14 generations from Solomon to Jeconiah, 14 generations from Shealtiel to Jesus. The Joseph in this lineage is Mary’s father. The only way to arrive at 14 is by counting Joseph, Mary and Jesus. It also helps to notice that the genealogy in Matthew is through Solomon and the one in Luke is through his brother Nathan. Therefore, they cannot both be about Joseph the husband of Mary. Mary isn’t mentioned at all in Luke. She is specifically mentioned in Matthew, because it is her line.

Matthew is about Jesus the King. Biological Lineage from David/Solomon, etc

Mark is Jesus the servant. No lineage.

Luke is Jesus the man. Lineage from his earthly father.

John is about Jesus the Son of God.

Thank you so much for spreading The Truth! I have known this for over 30 years, and this is only the second time I've heard it proclaimed! Praise be to God for you sharing His Word! Blessings....

Jesus wasn't a Arab... Arabs come from ishmel, Hebrews / Israelites decent from Adam, Abraham and Noah... Lighter skin color came from cooler environments according to science. Remember the Turks and Romans invaded the middle east and many of them mixed with some of the original darker skinned inhabitants that looked more Sub Saharan African but the mixing made a majority of them look more closely to Ashkinaz or modern day Ethiopians. Arab is a mix race.. Hebr w are lost tribes scattered across the globe such as Lemba Jews, Igbo Jews, Ethiopian Jews, Ashante Jews, etc

It is clear that Mary is of the lineage of King David. Why is she relegated as just the vessel through which God became flesh? Why isn't she exalted as the heroic young woman who sacrifice her honor to bring us our savior? Why don't we know more about her. It was in her that the truth was planted.

This is a fascinating video about the two lineages of Jesus Christ. I found it particularly interesting to learn about the different ways in which the two genealogies are presented in the Bible and how they relate to Jesus' identity as the Messiah. I also enjoyed the visual presentation of the information. Great job!

Finally, a simple and easy to understand explanation.

This actually cleared things up for me. I read the genealogy in Matthew the other day and told my husband that with that Jesus couldn't have been a decendant of David since Joseph wasn't his true father. But I knew that Jesus was in fact decended from David since it says he is in the Bible, so I was having trouble figuring out how he was since I haven't gotten to Luke yet in my reading. But now I know that both Mary and Joseph are decendants of David threw different sons of David. Thank you for clarifying that for me.

Furthermore, Jesus Christ did not just want to bring his teaching to a specific people or nation, but I am convinced that he consciously, as already mentioned for what reasons, chose his "place of origin" in Galilee to bring all entities, respectively, all countries and peoples known at the time. Furthermore, its origin is divine.

Through Joseph’s lineage Jesus inherited Solomon’s throne, even though he was not a blood descendant. Though it is important that he’s a blood descendant of David.

The Lineage of Jesus Christ is the Son and blood line of God the Father, he is the Jehovah of the old Testament.

It is probably difficult to truly trace ancient lineages except in ancient writings. As for Jesus Christ, I am of the opinion that he had no, if any, Jewish roots, including his mother Mary. Especially in Galilee, the Romans had already transported all undesirable people, especially prisoners from all conquered areas, to Galilee a hundred years before the birth of Jesus in order to mix the population, as is common practice today in order to achieve better control of the population . One clue is that, if it is correctly reported in the Bible, Mary greeted these three white men from the “Eastern Land” immediately after birth, in the puerperium. But due to Jewish tradition, a Jewish woman would never have been able to greet these three white men. This is not 100% proven, but neither is the opposite. There is now some thought that the original Jewish tribes came from the north and had fair skin and hair. Maybe the pictures that showed Jesus with light hair are.

I want to point out a detail that is overlooked. In scripture it says that Mary visits her niece Elisabeth, who was from the tribe of Levi (as the husband of Elisabeth, Zekariah, who also is of the tribe of Levi). I think that says that Mary also had roots in the tribe of Levi🤔?

Go to THE GOD CULTURE. HIS NAME IS YAHUSHA NOT Yeshua. Understand he came in the fathers name. YAHUAH, YHWH, YAH . Look at the names that he changed. YAHUAH put his name in theres.

The Jews have always traced lineage through the Maternal line. It was a later era that they wrote the Biblical lineage, when the Romans forced a fully Patriarchal System.
