With more than 50 million Toyota Corollas sold globally since its introduction in 1966, it seems everyone has a Corolla story. The 2022 Corolla sedan keeps the legend going, all with the dependability, fuel efficiency, safety and value established by its heritage. With choices of a performance Apex Edition, bold Nightshade Edition or stylish standard models, the Corolla is the compact sedan fit for every adventure. Drivers can even choose from a Hybrid or Hatchback model.

For drivers craving performance, they need to look no further than the 2022 Corolla Apex Edition. Built on the SE and XSE grade, the Apex Edition uses the 2.0-liter Dynamic Force Engine and delivers 169-horsepower, a dynamically tuned suspension, a punchier bark with a sport-tuned exhaust and a factory-custom body package that accentuates the Corolla’s edgy styling,

For the style conscious driver, the Corolla Nightshade Edition also returns for 2022. Featuring blackout trim and blacked-out 18-inch alloy wheels to the customer’s choice of Black Sand Pearl, Classic Silver Metallic or White exterior color. The blackout look covers the lower rocker panels, front valance, door handles, mirror caps, shark fin antenna, rear roof spoiler and headlight inner frames. Black Fabric premium seating comfortably carries the driver and passengers. The SE Nightshade Edition comes with the 2.0L 4-cylinder powerplant and is available with a 6-speed intelligent assist manual transmission or automatic Dynamic Shift Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).

The 2022 Corolla SE and XSE grades come equipped with a fun-to-drive 2.0-liter 4-cylinder DOHC 16-valve with Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i) engine, producing 169 horsepower at 6,600 rpm and 151 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,400 rpm. The L, LE and XLE grades also keep pace with stylish good looks and fuel-sipping 1.8-liter four-cylinder DOHC 16-Valve engine that produces 139 horsepower at 6,100 rpm and 126 lb.-ft. of torque at 3,900 rpm. The Corolla delivers plenty of smiles per gallon, bringing up to 40 EPA estimated MPG on the SE grade (with CVT).

The Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 suite of active safety systems comes standard on every Corolla sedan model. TSS 2.0 includes a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection (PCS w/PD), Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist (LDA w/SA), Automatic High Beams (AHB), Road Sign Assist (RSA), Lane Tracing Assist (LTA) and Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC).

2022 Corolla sedans are available now at Toyota dealerships, starting at $20,175 (L grade) Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price (MSRP), excluding $1,025 delivery, processing and handling (DPH) charge.
The 2022 Corolla sedan rides on a 106.3-inch wheelbase and brings dynamic performance with wide front (+0.47 in.) and rear (+0.87 in.) track dimensions. The bold front fascia details vary by model grade, with the SE and XSE putting on the sportiest face, including a body-color chin spoiler and aero stabilizing fins to emphasize the wide stance. The slim, J-shaped Bi-Beam LED headlamps wrap deeply into the front fenders and give the Corolla sedan a steely stare and a distinct nighttime signature. The sporty SE and XSE grades use triple J-shaped clearance lamps with LED lights along with LED turn signals, creating a unique design signature.

The available Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFS) provides a wider field of light and steers the low beam in the direction of the turn, based on steering angle and vehicle speed.

The rear leaves a distinct lighting impression as well, with narrow combination lamps that wrap deeply into the fenders. All 2022 Corolla sedan models use LEDs, the type and style varying by model grade. The sporty grades feature smoked outer light lenses.

What better way to showcase the Corolla sedan’s dramatic sheet metal than with bold colors? Dramatic hues include single and duo-color options. There’s the highly iridescent Celestite and Blueprint and the rest of the palette includes Windchill Pearl, White, Ruby Flare Pearl, Blue Crush Metallic, Classic Silver Metallic and Black Sand Pearl. Duo colors include Blue Crush Metallic, White, Ruby Flare Pearl, Cement, Blueprint, Wind Chill Pearl, Classic Silver Metallic and Celestite all paired with a Black Sand Pearl roof (duo color option are extra cost colors).

With 18-inch wheels standard on the SE and XSE grades, these multi-spoke alloys get their great looks from a complex machining technique paired with deep surfacing and dark gray accents. The LE Hybrid rides on 15-in. alloy wheels with covers while the LE grade gets 16-inch steel wheels with covers. The XLE grade gets 16-inch alloy wheels with three-dimensional twisted spokes.

You have the best most comprehensive car reviews on YouTube. That DeMuro guy could learn a lot from watching your videos.

Great car for long-term reliability, and it is fun with the manual. Happy it does NOT have a turbo, and glad it does NOT have only direct injection. It has a combination port/direct injection to eliminate the problems with direct only.

I'm South African, and I got to be honest, Toyota Corolla SE is my favorite car, especially in manual transmission. I would drive it all day, every day.

The fact that you can get the SE with the manual trans and a sunroof makes it very cool.

Im happy I bought my 2022 SE Corolla. Toyota has discontinued the manual transmission for the SE model. You can now only get a manual Corolla in the GR models. unfortunately they start at almost $ 40, 000!

So I was bored tonight and started watching some videos and I’m saying to myself. Wait a minute! That looks like my traffic circle at Ocean Isle Beach heading towards Shallotte, so of course I had to continue watching just to make sure and sure enough if I was right… Lol small world

Been a long time honda guy. Not anymore, have a 21 rdx. 2.0 turbo and had a 2.4 ilx. All factory rear main seal leaks. If engine warm and vehicle stationary oil smell pouring thru vents! Had 3 ilxs. Also owned a 21 tlx and had 3 to 4 loaners of samr model all same problem. And our current 21 rdx and the 3 loaners we had same problem. Spread the word. Honda/acura hasnt done anything for us. Im assuming they know they are just trying to keep it hush as it would cost them 10s of millions in recalls! The accord also has the 2.0 turbo motor. That being said just got our first toyota. 2022 se corolla. 6 speed.

Toyota’s website says the SE is supposed to come standard with seats with back pockets. I’m actually speaking with the dealer about this now. His first reaction was “well maybe it’s a supply chain issue”

He’s supposed to call me back tomorrow. They most likely won’t fix it, but it’s still worth complaining about it to Toyota. I don’t really care about supply issues. I care about what’s supposed to come in the car I’ve paid for.

Anyone with an SE Corolla (CVT or Manual) should contact their dealer about getting the right seats for your car, even if nothing is done about it.

Other than that I love the car.

For interior light deficiencies why not put in brighter LED bulbs to light up interior and or trunk/hatchback area?🤔

I enjoy my 22 corolla se. Downside is those car seat covers (plastic). Small, but the gas saving makes up for it.

Thank you for your effort to produce the video, although this special Corolla is not available in Germany. Nevertheless its very interesting and informativ to learn about all the details regarding this car and the many others during your advisory activity. Just carry on! 👍

15:10 its not just you. The clutch is fine, the clutch pedal is lite and i really like that. My problem was finding that the light clutch pedal and the engagement point being so high up just made it super hard to get used to from other manufacturers(in older cars) who often had a heavier clutch spring but the engagement point was lower. I was forced to learn how to feather the pedal in a higher position, whole supporting my foot and leg so i did not drop/dumping the clutch.

Yes no map pockets behind seats and in SE HATCHBACK there is no manual lever to release hatch from inside car. All cars have a manual release inside car next to fuel door release.

Like the video, but not the car necessarily. I like the rear end of the sedan, and I like the stick, but the front end is hideous as compared to the new Civic.

would you recommend this over the 22 civic

When I try to “build” on their site with the manual, it won’t let me. Do you have to place an order for the manual or what?
