Australia too. At launch, the 4070 was $1099 AUD. It sold *so badly* (literally zero at some of the biggest retailers lol) that it was discounted to $949, which (minus 10% GST) brings it down to $570 USD, which is at least a decent 13.5% discount here in Aus for better or worse.

NO WORRIES Nvidia faithful. We hear you, you're unhappy with the pricing model, so what we're going to do because we're so customer centric, is just cease production on 4070's and other graphic cards to restrict inventory to artificial create higher demand even though we can easily produce more than enough. I mean we could just lower prices but we need to keep our margins.
In the end, you're going to buy it anyway. Besides, what are you going to do? Buy AMD? LOL! let them lower their prices, our nvidia simps are loyal. We dont' have to lower prices. Every Evan McTiktok will buy Nvidia till the end.

Consider this for a second: $600 used to get us the very top SKU. Now nVidia wants $1800 - $2000 for the very same thing. That $600 now gets us an entry level '60-class' card. And here people are getting excited for a $50 "discount" on a card that is $350 - $400 overpriced 🤦

I wish they would make a 16 gig version of the 3070ti.
Otherwise I'm going to have to get the Rx 7900xt 20 gig.
Having only 12 gigs of v ram option on an $800+ card is ridiculous.

I was thinking AMD was stupid to not release new GPUs to the market when the competitor is not offering good ones, but after watching this video I realized that it's smart not to release what would undoubtedly be the same performance for the same money and get equally railed in some tech media like NVIDIA is currently. Though, I think AMD 7800XTX will be praised because "at least it has enough VRAM" while still being the same cost for the same performance like every other GPU product that will release in the near future.

It’s ironic that the previous gen was never in stock at near double the MSRP, and now that the 4070 is in stock for a modestly high MSRP everyone is sitting it out. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Meanwhile: 4070 yields 3080 performance with a smaller form factor, way lower power and heat.

AMD is being given a wide-open shot here. If they launch their midrange products with more than 8 GB of VRAM and an actually reasonable price, they could take quite a bit of market share. Still waiting on even a rumored launch date, though...

I'm Polish and even I didn't know what the N in PLN stood for. The first two letters is obvious: PL as in Poland (UK for United Kingdome etc.) but the N is.. kinda stupid. The Polish currency is known as 'Złoty' so you'd expect a Z there (as in PLZ) but no.. the N stand for New, as in Nowy Polski Złoty. Yup, I shit you not, and yes it's just as stupid as you think.
Also, lol 4060s with 8GB of ram are kinda DOA. No one wants an 8gig card in 2023 (Q2 pretty much at that).
