Dutch roll is a stable (usually) motion in an airplane caused by an imbalance between the wings and tail, which can make the flight difficult to control and potentially dangerous for passengers and crew. It cause swaying and give the impression that the aircraft is out of control. It is regarded as a serious issue that must be addressed during the airplane design in order to ensure the flight's safety.

This happened during a flight test that I was participating in at São José dos Campos, Brazil.

Here all this time I thought the pilot was getting a hummer by the stewardess.

The plane was acting up as they served Swiss rolls with the in-flight meal

Oh this happened to my Wizzair flight during landing. Very calming but scary at the same time.

NOT a Dutch Roll as would be experienced in a swept wing jet! This is a straight wing turboprop and is simulating what the pilot •thinks• a Dutch Roll might be but is merely rudder-yaw rolling … slightly.

I think the 737 had a 32° leading edge sweep: among the lesser sweeps of “modern” jets, too.

Two separate yaw damper devices in tail have worked almost perfectly since the B707 entered service before 1960. Each one can do 100% of the job and they are two as backup design. If both fail, the Dutch Rolling tendency can be controlled by the pilot and the “fix” is descend to FL250 or below and slow down about 20% — then land as soon as practicable to get them fixed.

Oh this isn't suppose to happen? I've been in those and I thought I was on a roller coaster. I thought it was just turbulence

It's very simple. The airplane is balanced a bit tail heavy from cargo and people distribution. Some planes have crashed on takeoff because of this
