I use a Line 6 HX Stomp as an amp because it responds well to drive pedals and has an effects loop that can be placed anywhere in a virtual signal chain, including in parallel. I use the traditional irl effects loop placement (preamp>loop>power amp/cab) the least. I typically go after the cab for clean time effects or before the amp for a wash of swirling stereo echoes and verbs. Occasionally I use the Stomps effects to do both which allows for things like placing fuzz after reverb.

Damn that was fun. I ran the wet out of a Boss pitch delay back in to the input via a mono Y cable once. That’s a cool almost scary sound.

i once put a dod bass flanger in the loop of a deluxe memory boy and i've gotta say I liked that waaaay more than the chorusing that is produced by modulating the time delay. way nicer mod delay tbh. all beautiful examples as always and i hope you release your album soon

Not sure if any of your pedals do it, but I've always loved delay FX loops that put the sound through the FX loop again on each repeat. You can make your own shimmer-verbs/delays this way by using your Tentacle or similar.

Great stuff! I've been doing similar stuff with couple analog delays with loops. Of course all the modulation and other delays, but also the shortest delay for chorus/doubling and adding nastier fuzz to the repeats only.

Edited to add: Mortal Kombat 3 Sonya as played by Kerri Hoskins!! There’s my video game crush right there. Sonya Blade peaked in MK3 and I will die on that hill. All the later iterations in subsequent MK titles? Not my Sonya.
